Objective:The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the intermittent pneumatic compression only used for preoperative period to prevent deep venous thrombosis after total hip arthroplasty. Methods:Eighty cases of patients with unilateral femoral neck fracture requiring total hip arthroplasty, were randomly divided into experimental group and observation group before operation.Low molecular weight heparin sodium and the intermittent pneumatic compression were used for expermental group before the operation.Rivaroxaban was used after the operation.Observation group only used low molecular weight heparin sodium before the operation.Rivaroxaban was used after the operation. Results:No deep vein thrombosis occurred in the test group. Two cases of deep venous thrombosis occurred in the control group. The difference was statistically significant. Conclusion:To prevent deep venous thrombosis after total hip arthroplasty, using low molecular weight heparin sodium and the intermittent pneumatic compression before the operationand using rivaroxaban after the operation has obvious meaning.
