Objective:In this paper, the effects of propofol and sevoflurane on postoperative delirium in elderly malignant tumor patients were to be discussed. Methods:A total of 50 patients with general anesthesia were selected in our hospital. The patients was distributed randomly into the propofol group(P group)and the sevoflurane group(S group). The analgesic drug sufentanil was added to the analgesic pump after surgery.Intraoperative patient’s life indicators was kept stablely. At the time when before the anesthesia induction(T0),doing the surgery(T1),awaken after anesthesia(T2),the first day after operation(T3),the third day after operation(T4),the fifth day after operation(T5)respectively extract 5 ml blood of patients from their veins. Then we centrifuged the tubes with blood, and saved the upper plasma at minus 80 degree freezer.Plasma NSE,S100βprotein and IL-2 concentration were detected by ELISA,and statistical analysis was performed. The patients were visited for seven days after operation. The method of evaluation(CAM or CAM-ICU)was used to assess whether the patient had the complication of postoperative delirium. Results:In P group and S group, there was no significant difference in the general condition. In the P group, delirium occurred in one patient. The plasma concentration of S100βprotein in P group and S group was significantly higher than that of T0 before anesthesia induction(P<0.05).The plasma protein concentration of NSE in P group at the time of recovery from the anesthesia(T2)was elected compared with that when before the anesthesia induction(T0)(P<0.05).The plasma concentration of the NSE in group S at the time of doing the surgery(T1),recovery from anesthesia(T2),and the first day after operation(T3)were elected than that before anesthesia induction(T0)(P<0.05).There was no significant difference about the plasma protein of IL-2,S100βprotein and NSE in the two groups(T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5).Conclusion:There was no significant difference with sevoflurane and propofol on the effects of the postoperative delirium in elderly malignant tumor patients.Whether IL-2 is assiociated with POD needs more research to prove it.
