| Objective: To make a study on the perioral force,of unilateral cleft lip and palate(Unilateral complete cleft lip and palate,UCLP)in patients by using the perioral force measuring instrument, through the measurement and analysis of patients with UCLP occlusion model, symmetry and understanding of UCLP patients with cleft side and the non-cleft side perioral force distribution and dental arch form. The correlation and perioral force distribution and dental arch form. Methods: 16 patients with unilateral complete cleft lip and palate were selected as the experimental group.Access the plaster models of each research subjects.Detecting the landmarks, and then measure and assess the models of maxillary and mandibular. The length and width of dental arch in cleft side and non-cleft side was measured in different arch segments, besides the anterior, middle and posterior segment of the arch width in mixed dentition patients with UCLP cleft side and non-cleft side. The perioral force in the molar area, premolar area, canine area and incisor area of the two groups were measured. Then use statistical software SPSS 22.0 to analyze the perioral force and arch length, width. The symmetry of the perioral force and dental arch forms was studied.Pearson correlation analysis was carried out on the length and width of arch and the measurement of the perioral force, and the correlation between the two was discussed. Results: 1.Comparison of dental archThe maxillary anterior, middle arch width of mixed dentition patients with UCLP cleft side is smaller than that of the non-cleft side, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01),the difference was not statistically significant while the arch width of cleft and non-cleft side maxillary posterior arch(P > 0.05);maxillary cleft side arch length less than the non-cleft side arch length, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01),the difference between cleft and non-cleft mandibular lateral side arch length and width was no significant(P > 0.05).2.Comparison of perioral forceThe perioral force of maxillary dentition with UCLP molar buccal, premolar buccal and canine labial area in the cleft side was greater than the non-cleft side, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01),but there were not significantly different between the perioral force of maxillary molars, premolars, canine lingual side in cleft and non-cleft side side(P > 0.05);the lip(buccal),lingual perioral force of mandibular in cleft and non-cleft side was no significant difference(P > 0.05).3.Correlation between perioral force and dental archThere is a significant correlation between the perioral force of the maxillary central incisor and the length of dental arch in UCLP patients. There was a significant negative correlation between the perioral force and the length of the dental arch in the maxillary central incisor of the patients with UCLP.There was a high negative correlation between the canine labial area and the width of the arch in the maxillary. There was a moderate negative correlation between perioral force in the premolar buccal side and the arch width in the non-cleft side. There was a slight negative correlation between the central incisor and the length of the arch length in the maxillary of the non-cleft side. There is a mild positive correlation between the non-cleft side of the mandibular molar and the posterior segment width of the arch. There is a mild correlation between the central incisor and the length of the tooth arch in the non-cleft of mandible.Conclusion:1.The development of the maxillary arch by UCLP patients in the mixed dentition is asymmetrical, mainly in the cleft and non-cleft side.2.The perioral force of the maxillary is asymmetrical in the UCLP patients, and the perioral force of the cleft side is greater than that of the non-cleft side.3.There is a positive correlation between the upper lip pressure and the length of maxillary arch in the UCLP patients. There is a negative correlation between the lingual perioral force and the width of posterior arch. The pressure of both upper and lower lip of the UCLP patients was negatively correlated with the length of the dental arch, and the degree of the cleft side of the upper lip was the largest. The perioral force of the premolar region was negatively correlated with the width of the dental arch;there is a positively correlation between the lingual perioral force and the width of posterior arch. |
