Depression is the result of many factors such as heredity,neuroendocrine,brain structure and function,psychology,and society.Childhood trauma is one of the most common and very important psychosocial factors.The relationship between childhood trauma and depression has received a lot of research support.Numerous evidences show that childhood trauma is associated with chronicity of depression and poor treatment outcomes.However,the possible pathogenesis between childhood trauma and depressive disorder is not yet clear.We searched PubMed,Web of Science,EMBASE,PsycINFO,CNCK and other databases searched domestic and foreign literature using the following keywords "child trauma,depression,genes,brain structure,HPA,cognition",summarized the possible pathogenesis of childhood abuse and depression.The article elaborates the relationship between childhood trauma and depression with biological factors such as genes,brain structure and function,monoamine transmitters,neuroendocrine,inflammation factors,psychosocial factors such as attachment,cognition,self-esteem,emotion regulation,personality,family environment,and the collective effect of Biological and psychosocial factors.This review may provide more accurate new ideas for the clinical intervention and prevention strategies for depression,especially with childhood traumatic depression.
