Objective: In this study,adolescents with depression received group painting therapy,to explore the effect of this painting course on Patients’ self esteem and resilience,as well as on emotion,cognition function and executive function.Methods:A total of 60 hospitalized adolescent patients who were diagnosed as depressive episodes in the mental health department were enrolled.According to the random number table method,the patients were randomly divided into control group and the test group.The control group received routine antidepressant treatment and nursing,did not change the normal activities of patients,but they can not touch any activities related to painting therapy.On the basis of conventional antidepressant treatment and nursing,the test group was given group painting treatment for 90 minutes twice a week and the treatment last 4 weeks,eight times.The scores of PANAS,CD-RISC,SES,WCST,MCCB were collected to assess the effectiveness of group painting therapy before and after the intervention.Results:A total of 53 depression patients were enrolled in the study,including 25 in the test group and 28 in the control group.1 Positive emotion: There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups at the 4 week(P<0.01).The scores of the two groups at 4 week were increased in different degrees,and the difference between two group was statistically significant(P<0.01).Negative emotion: There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups at the 4 week(P<0.05).The scores of the two groups at 4 week were increased in different degrees,and the difference between two group was statistically significant(P<0.01).2 SES: There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups at the 4 week(P<0.01),and the score at the 4 week of the painting group increased,the difference in painting group was statistically significant(P<0.01),while there was no statistical significance in the control group(P<0.01).3 CD-RISC:There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups at the 4 week(P<0.01).The scores of the two groups at 4 week were increased in different degrees,and the difference between two group was statistically significant(P<0.01).4 MCCB:The difference of scores of SC、NAB-Mazes、BVMT-R、MSCEIT-ME、CPT between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment,the scores of the two groups after intervention were statistically significant(P<0.01).5 WCST:The difference of scores of Ra、Rp、Rpe、nRpe between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment,the scores of painting group has statistical significance after intervention except the Rf(P<0.01),the scores of Rp、Rpe、nRpe of control group has statistical significance after intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion: After group painting therapy,there were statistically significant differences of outcomes in the Painting group before and after the intervention,suggest that the Painting therapy can reduce the negative emotions of adolescents with depression,improve the Positive emotions,resilience and self-esteem,and their executive function,cognitive function.
