Objective:To investigate the effects of internal environment factors on simple febrile seizures(SFS)and complex febrile seizures(CFS)according to the electroencephalogram(EEG)and the detection of pH,bicarbonate, residual alkali, oxygen partial pressure, hemoglobin concentration, blood oxygen saturation, serum sodium, serum potassium, serum calcium, serum magnesium and serum iron in venous blood in children with febrile seizures. Methods:The clinical data of 64 children with febrile seizures(FS)admitted from Dec.2014to Dec.2017 in The People’s Hospital of Pingyi County were analyzed retrospectively.According to clinical features, the children with FS were classified as SFS group and CFS group. There were 46 cases and 18 cases in the two groups, respectively. On the one hand, the general information of all the patients, such as:gender, age, family history and past history were collected. On the other hand, collecting the venous blood within one hour after onset in all children with FS and detecting the pH,bicarbonate, residual alkali, oxygen partial pressure, hemoglobin concentration and blood oxygen saturation. At the same time, the blood routine, serum sodium, serum potassium, serum calcium, serum magnesium and serum iron in venous blood were also inspected. In addition, the electroencephalogram were recorded within one week and one month after onset in all children with FS.Furthermore, the general information of simple FS and complex FS groups were compared. The differences in clinical characteristics and results of blood gas analysis, inspection of serum sodium, serum potassium, serum calcium, serum magnesium and serum iron as well as the EEG between the groups were also compared.Results:(1)There were significantly differences between the two groups.Compared with the SFS group,CFS group had a significant lower age at onset,a significant longer convulsion duration and a significant lower body temperature at onset than those of SFS(p﹤0.05).(2)The average pH,PCO2,PO2,residual alkali,HCO-3,concentration of hemoglobin, red blood cells deposited(HCT)and the mean oxygen saturation in venous blood of SFS and CFS group were within normal ranges.Furthermore, there were no significantly differences between the two groups(p>0.05).(3)The results of the concentrations of red blood cells, hemoglobin and the red blood cells deposited of SFS group were similarly to those of CFS.Compared with the control group, there were no significant differences.Compared with the control group, there were significantly differences in the results of white blood cells, platelets and neutrophil percentage of SFS group(p﹤0.05).The average red blood cell volume and average hemoglobin content of CFS and SFS group were significantly lower than those of control group(p﹤0.05).In addition, the average red blood cell volume and average hemoglobin content of CFS group were the lowest.(4)The results of serum sodium, serum potassium, serum calcium and serum magnesium in venous blood of SFS and CFS group were within normal ranges.Furthermore, there were no significantly differences between the two groups. The result of serum iron of SFS and CFS group were lower than the normal range and significantly lower than that of control group(p﹤0.05).(5)The incidence of the abnormal electroencephalogram recorded within one week after onset in all children with CFS and CFS were higher and could basically return to normal after one month. Moreover, there were no significant differences between the two groups(p>0.05).Conclusions:1.Children with CFS had a significantly lower age at onset,a significantly higher incidence of seizure in one thermal process,a significantly longer convulsion duration and a significantly lower body temperature at onset.2.There were no significant differences in the results of p H,PCO2,PO2,residual alkali, red blood cells deposited(HCT),HCO3-concentration,concentration of hemoglobin and the mean oxygen saturation in venous blood between the two groups.3.The routine blood of SFS and CFS group were characterized by small cell, low pigment iron deficiency and these characters were more apparent in CFS group, which indicated that there was the iron deficiency in the body.4.Iron deficiency may be a factor that induced the febrile seizures.5.The incidence of the abnormal electroencephalogram recorded within one week after onset in all children with CFS and CFS were higher and could basically return to normal after one month. Moreover, there were no significant differences between the two groups(p>0.05).
