Objective: The aim is to develop a list of potentially inappropriate medications(PIM)for elderly patients with hypertension,which can be provide referance for promoting rational prescribing in Chinese elders with hypertension and developing new PIM lists by disease classification.Methods: We collected the PIM criteria and guidelines for hypertension from the following databases: Pub Med,Embase,NGC,GIN,CNKI,CBM and Wang Fang.A preliminary PIM list was developed,based on the hypertension medications.We asked a group of 23 experts form final PIM criteria after two rounds of Delphi method.Result: 29 PIM criteria and 46 guidelines for hypertension were used as reference for the preliminary PIM list.This inclued 44 indicators: 11 medications or medication classes potentially inappropriate medications,21 medications or medication classes of 15 specific disease,and 12 corresponding drug interactions.The final PIM criteria include 6 medications or medication classes potentially inappropriate medications,21 medications or medication classes of 15 specific disease,and 12 corresponding drug interactions,which are revised after tow rounds of Delphi method.The result of coordination coefficient test was P<0.05.Conclusion: The PIM for elderly patients with hypertension can provide referance for the safe medication of elderly patients,and needed to be improved by clinical application.It's developing method can provied referance for new PIM for Chinese elderly people by disease classification.
