| Objective:To investigate the relationship between bilirubin level and echocardiography in different types of heart failure.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed 442 heart failure patients who were hospitalized in the Department of Cardiology,the first hospital of Hebei Medical University from January 2005 to March 2010.The relationship between the bilirubin level and the parameters of echocardiography was analyzed in different types of heart failure(heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction).These parameters include left ventricular ejection fraction,left anteroposterior diameter,right atrium transverse diameter,right ventricular end diastolic diameter,left ventricular end diastolic diameter,which were standardized by body surface area.Results:The incidence of total bilirubin(TBil)and direct bilirubin(DBil)abnormality in patients with ejection fraction(HFrEF)and the level of TBil and DBil were higher than those in group HFpEF(P<0.05).The level of TBil in group HFrEF was associated with left ventricular ejection fraction(P<0.05).There was no significant correlation between TBil,DBil and the size of atrioventricular cavity in the heart.The level of TBil and DBil in group HFp EF was significantly correlated with the transverse diameter of the right atrium,the end diastolic diameter of the right ventricle,and the left atrium transverse diameter(P<0.05),and the level of TBil and DBil was negatively correlated with the left ventricular end diastolic diameter(P<0.05),and there was no significant correlation with the left ventricular ejection fraction.The level of total bilirubin in patients with heart failure was significantly correlated with the right lateral diameter and the end diastolic diameter of the right ventricle(P<0.05),and had a negative correlation with the ejection fraction(P<0.05).The level of direct bilirubin in the patients with heart failure was significantly correlated with the right lateral diameter and the end diastolic diameter of the right ventricle(P<0.05),and had no significant correlation with the ejection fraction.Conclusions: The level of TBil in group HFrEF was correlated with left ventricular ejection fraction.The level of TBil and DBil in group HFpEF were significantly correlated with right atrial diameter,right ventricular end diastolic diameter,left atrial diameter,and negatively correlated with left ventricular end diastolic diameter. |
