| Objective: To assess recent clinical efficacy, compared with clinical symptoms improved in patients with patent foramen oval(PFO)by occlusion treatment.Method: We studied 12 PFO patients(12 stroke,8 migraine)in Hospital. All patients had PFO and right-left shunt confirmed by transesophageal echocardiograph(TEE)and contrast transesophageal echocardiograph(C-TEE).After the operation, given immediately bedside transthoracic echocardiography(TTE)and contrast transthoracic echocardiography(C-TTE)to observe the parachute and distributary conditions. The patients were followed up at 30 days and 90 days with TTE and C-TTE.CT were used to confirm stroke recurrence at 90 days and HIT-6 score were used to evaluate migraine before and after operation. To assess recent clinical efficacyby the above method.Result: All the patients underwent surgery successfully mediated closure.Arrhythmia 1 case, given symptomatic treatment to improve sinus bradycardia and returned to normal.TTE and C-TTE were sure to the location and state of occluder. There is no function influence in each valve.Only 1 patient have a small amount of right-left shunt, then shunt disappeared later.Migraine symptoms of 8 migraine were improved significantly at the postoperative 30 days and 90 days, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).All patients were test any new infarction lesions and recurrent stroke by CT at postoperative 90 days. Conclusion: Patent foramen oval is closely related to the disease of nervous system(eg,strokećmigraine).Occlusion treatment could prevent of stroke, modify the symptoms of migraine, improve living quality, and has no serious complication.Effect of was safe and exact. If the indicationsare clear for PFO patients, surgery is a better choice to consider to treat migraine. |
