Infectious disease is a basic and important factor in human history.Until today, infectious diseases such as SARS and H1N1 still have a great influence on human’s life. For the research of infectious diseases in the Sichuan area in the period of the Republic of China, there is currently only one book and four articles devoted to academic research. This article will make full use of the relevant historical data of infectious diseases, using the historical geography, statistics and other ways,To carry out the literature review and relevant indicator descriptions of infectious diseases in the Sichuan region of the Republic of China in the time and space perspectives. To explore the time and space features of infectious diseases in Sichuan during the period of Republic of China, and to explore the causes of infectious diseases and the prevention and control of infectious diseases during the period from the perspective of natural factors and social factors. The introductory part of this passage mainly introduces the origin of the selected topic, the review of academic history, the significance of the selected topic, the relevant concepts related to this paper, the methods and methods of research, and the main academic issues to be solved. The first chapter mainly explores the epidemic density of infectious diseases in Sichuan under the visual threshold.By studying the epidemic situation of infectious diseases before 1927 and the type and time density of infectious diseases in Sichuan from 1927 to 1949,the time density characteristics of nine infectious diseases in thestudy period were obtained:First, the time scale of infectious diseases in Sichuan during wartime is much longer than other time periods.Second, seasonal factors not only affect the time of the occurrence of various infectious diseases, but also in some years the season can play a strengthening role in the severity of infectious diseases. The second chapter focuses on the preliminary investigation of infectious diseases in the Sichuan region in the period of the Republic of China. In addition to reviewing the geographical distribution of infectious diseases before 1927,the epidemic status of infectious diseases from 1927 to 1949 was studied in detail, and the space characteristics of infectious diseases during this period were drawn. In the geographical location, the main distribution areas of infectious diseases are located in central, southern, and southeastern of Sichuan, and the epidemic is different from that in central Sichuan before 1927;In the distribution of terrain, the pattern of spreading from the plain to the surrounding area was broken. In addition to the plateau, the distribution of infectious diseases was found in the plains, mountains, and hills. There were also a large number of epidemic areas in the terrain alternating areas and mixed terrain areas.Besides that, the increase in traffic access has deepened the occurrence and spread of regional epidemics. The third chapter mainly discusses the impact factors of infectious diseases in Sichuan region from 1927 to 1949.It is believed that the occurrence of infectious diseases such as topography, climate, natural disasters and other related natural factors not only plays a role in laying the pattern of no annual epidemic in Sichuan, but also has an impact on the severity of infectious diseases.Social factors such as warfare, health environment, and transportation are the reasons why infectious diseases are different from other diseases.Social factors affect the occurrence and spread of infectious diseases as much as natural factors. In some cases,it is greater than the effect of natural factors on the occurrence and spread of the epidemic. The fourth chapter is a case study, which mainly discusses the response and control patterns of cholera epidemic in Chongqing in the Republic of China.Analysing the performance of Chongqing in the two outbreaks from the two cholera cases in Sichuan Province in 1937 and 1945,and exploring the special problems that have emerged in the prevention measures and the prevention and control measures taken by Chongqing in response to cholera. It is believed that the scientific means of epidemic prevention have been gradually popularized in two cholera epidemics, and the process of health modernization in the eastern Sichuan region has continued to develop. This progresshas benefited from the scientificization of the control and epidemic prevention model, the gradual integration of Chinese and Western medical culture, and the joint efforts of the government and the people.Through the analysis of each chapter,it is reflected that the incidence of acute gastrointestinal infectious diseases in Sichuan during the Republic of China is far higher than other diseases, and this pattern is closely related to the social factors of environmental water pollution. At the same time, the occurrence of epidemics and the expansion of the spread of infectious diseases make the causes and temporal and spatial patterns of infectious diseases more complicated. The spread of Western medical culture played a very good role in the prevention and control of infectious diseases in Sichuan Province during the period of the Republic of China. The spread of related knowledge was slowly and tortuously progressing in the process of health modernization.
