Objectives This survey aims at providing targeted health education for parents of children with fever,by understanding the parents' fever cognition of kindergarten children and their clinic medical needs. It also makes a discussion and analysis on the difference of the parents' fever cognition of kindergarten children and their clinic medical needs. Methods This survey uses stratified cluster sampling.1069 parents from 10 kindergartens in Qinhuangdao were selected to do a questionnaire survey, including 3 towns kindergartens,626 children in the kindergarten, seven rural kindergartens,443 children in the kindergarten. The contents of the questionnaire included eight aspects: the general situation of the family;the situation of the children going to the hospital after fever;the general knowledge and treatment methods of the parents on the children's fever;treatment of febrile convulsions;lower the temperature treatment method;the use of antiinfective drugs and the parents' own purchase of the medicine;parents' knowledge of the fever-related examinations of their children;parents' knowledge of fever hazards of their children;parents' mental states when kindergarten children are feverish;the medical needs of parents for children.Questionnaires were distributed centrally during kindergartens' parent-teachers' meetings.On-site recycling was the main method.1069 questionnaires were distributed and recovered, and 1035 valid questionnaires. The data is summarized and recorded in excel form, and then description and statistical analysis was done with SPSS22 statistical software. Results 1 The number of fever symptoms among urban and rural kindergarten children is mostly 3~5 during the year. The parents' options for treatment are affected in different extent by factors of place of residence, education, economic status and occupation.2 Parents of kindergarten children had a low awareness of child fever and related treatment, with an average of 40.2%.The fever cognition and family nursing of children's parents is mostly different to some extent from different urban and rural areas, educational backgrounds and occupations.Have differences in the cognition of fever and related treatments. The children's parents, from different urban and rural areas, educational backgrounds and occupations, have differences in the cognition of fever and related treatments. However, there is no significant difference in the treatment of fever and fever convulsions.56.8% of parents of children in kindergartens will purchase medicines by themselves when their children have a fever prior to seeing a doctor.Parents from different urban and rural areas and with different occupations have differences in purchasing medicines when their children are feverish;Parents with different educational backgrounds and mentalities have differences in purchasing antipyretics and antibiotics when their children are feverish and they are basically the same when purchasing antiviral drugs.3 The parents of kindergarten children from different urban and rural areas and with different educational backgrounds have different cognition of fever-related examinations.Parents of kindergarten children had the highest selection rate of blood routine examination and chest X-ray examination, they were "listening to the doctor and feeling unnecessary",and the parental selection rates of "necessary" for the two examinations were 30.7% and 24.6%,respectively.There is slightly higher proportion that parents of urban children think that it is necessary to carry out two inspections slightly higher, and parents of rural children have better behaviors in compliance with doctor's orders. These parents have some misconceptions about the chest X-ray examination.4 The proportions of urban and rural children's parents who think that fever will or may cause various harms to the body are 70.9% and 80.6% respectively.Parents of kindergarten children who are anxious and afraid to fall asleep when their children are feverish make up 48.6%.5 The ways in which parents of kindergarten children need to obtain knowledge about fever are basically the same. The demand for medical knowledge is high, especially about the common causes and manifestations of fever(2.76±0.48).In addition, urban parents pay more attention to the development of the disease, and rural parents pay more attention to the treatment of the disease. Both of them have higher requirements for the use of antipyretic drugs, and for the way to prevent and deal with high fever convulsions. The higher the educational level of parents of kindergarten children, the higher the demand for medical care. Conclusions 1 Parents of kindergarten children have lower awareness of knowledge, related treatment and blood routine examination of children's fever, excessive use of chest X-ray examination and have some misconceptions, and have a higher demand for medical knowledge.2 For younger children, rural and very anxious parents, should emphasize the time when the parents decide to see a doctor, the use of antipyretic drugs, and the febrile convulsions family disposal;parents with low academic qualifications and non-cultural education need to emphasize the principle of antibiotic use and the way they use drugs.
