Objective: To understand the prevalence of hyperuricemia and metabolic syndrome among Uygur and Han nationalities in Xinjiang and investigate the relationship between serum uric acid level and metabolic syndrome and its components. Methods: A cluster random sampling method was used to survey the residents in Tianshan District and the township of Toxon County in Urumqi,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. From September to December 2015,a total of 2,902 Uygur and Han nationality population The basic information includes body weight, waist circumference, height, blood pressure and body mass index(BMI)calculated by the formula. The laboratory test results include:UA,TG,TC,The level of serum UA was divided into four groups according to the quartile method, including the levels of serum lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),fasting blood glucose(FBG),OGTT2 h blood glucose(PBG)and glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1C)Group,comparing the above indicators between the four groups and the prevalence of metabolic syndrome.Results:(1)The prevalence of uric acid and metabolic syndrome were 4.2% and 20.9%respectively.Age,waist circumference,BMI,blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, triglyceride and total cholesterol The difference was statistically significant(p <0.05),and with the increase of uric acid level, the average value gradually increased, the difference between high-density lipoprotein groups was statistically significant(p <0.05),with the uric acid levels increased Mean value gradually decreased, low density lipoprotein,2h postprandial blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin difference was not statistically significant.(2)There was a significant difference between the groups of metabolic syndrome and hypertension, central obesity and dyslipidemia(p <0.05),and with the increase of uric acid level,Prevalence rate increased gradually, while the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant.(3)Linear correlationanalysis showed that age, waist circumference,BMI,systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and triglyceride were positively correlated with serum uric acid(r = 0.08;r= 0.251;r=0.184;0.337),p<0.05,logistic regression analysis showed that the influence of waist circumference,BMI,triglyceride,LDL-C and HbA1 C on UA was statistically significant. The waist circumference,BMI,TG and LDL-C were positively correlated with UA(OR=9.262,95%CI 1.455-2.236,P<0.05;OR=2.865,95% CI 0.491-2.62,P=0.004;OR = 17.02,95% CI 14.185-17.88,P<0.05;OR=6.63,95% CI3.281-6.037,P<0.05);Hb A1 C was negatively correlated with UA(OR=-2.553,95% CI-7.073-0.928,P=0.011).Conclusion: Hyperuricemia is closely related to the metabolic syndrome and the pathogenesis of various components.
