OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical significance of ultrasound quantification technique in diagnosing non-alcoholic fatty liver and the related risk factors of NAFLD.METHODS: We collected patients with fatty liver and people who underwent physical examination from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from May 2015 to April 2017.First obtained the corresponding clinical data, blood biochemical indicators. Then, calculated the liver-kidney echo ratio and the liver echo attenuation coefficient on the ultrasound images by applying the NIH image analysis software, respectively.Estimated the liver fat content(LFC)with the corrected formula.According to the quartile of LFC,all cases were divided into Q1(LFC≤10.05),Q2(10.05<LFC≤16.86),Q3(16.86<LFC≤25.21),and Q4(LFC>25.21)groups.Applied SPSS 17.0 software to compare the statistical significance of ages, gender, nationality, smoking history, body weight,waist-to-hip ratio, blood pressure, blood lipids, blood glucose, liver function, kidney function, and gray-scale ultrasonography in different LFC groups.RESULTS: A total of 347 people were collected in this study,including158 male and 189 female. The average age was 53.91 ± 12.94(47.0,62.0).(1)According to the LFC quartile grouping system, the differences in waist-hip ratio, systolic blood pressure, smoking history,BMI,UA,GGT,ALT,AST,fasting blood glucose,Hb A1 C,and fasting insulin among the groups were statistically significant(P <0.05).(2)With the increase of LFC,TG increased as well(P<0.05),while HDL-C decreased(P<0.01).(3)Pearson correlation analysis showed that LFC was positively correlated with waist-hip ratio, systolic blood pressure,BMI,TG,UA,AST,GGT,ALT,fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin,HbA1 C,but negatively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.05).(4)Using an LFC>25.21 group as a reference for ordered multi-classified logistic regression analysis, the results showed that ALT,TG,HbA1 C,UA,and BMI is independent risk factors associated with LFC.LFC increased when each of them increased.(5)The gray-scale ultrasound diagnos is group was positively correlated with LFC.CONCLUSIONS: 1.ALT,TG,HbA1 C,UA and BMI are independent risk factors in the occurrence of NAFLD.2.Using ultrasound quantification technique to measure the content of liver fat is an accurate method that is not only easy to perform but also with a lower cost.Besides,it has a high clinical application value, and is quite helpful in discovering fatty liver at an early stage and diagnosing the severeness of it.
