Objective: To explore the application value of tissue dispersion quantitative technique based on color elastic image in benign prostatic hyperplastic disease. Methods: Transrectal ultrasound examination was checked on 56 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)patients.Prostate related parameters, including the total volume of the prostate, the transition zone of transition zone volume and index, urethra prostate gland artery blood flow resistance index, etc.,were examined.Ultrasonic elastic tissue dispersion technology was used to obtain 11 elastic image characteristics, including strain mean, standard deviation, blue area ratio(%),complexity, kurtosis and skewness,contrast,equivalence,Disorderly-degree,consistency.Some clinical dataset about patients was also collected. It included age, urodynamic test results(whether there were BOO and obstruction),PSA,postoperative pathological results, and so on.patients with BPH were diagnosed whether suffered from chronic prostatitis according to their postoperative pathology and 11 elastic characteristicswas made a comparison between two types of patients and 17 normal males who were treated as control. Results: There is a good correlation between mean and BOO in prostate gland area(r =-0.630,p ? 0.00).The correlation coefficient is higher than other elastic characteristic parameters. The prostatic volume parameter(TPV,TZV,TZI)and BOO degree also showed a close relationship(r were equal to 0.691,0.685 and 0.588,respectively.p ?0.000).The ROC curves of obstruction degree of BOO were draw by strain mean and blue area ratio(%),respectively. For the light-medium and severe obstruction, their areas under ROC curves was 0.849(strain mean)and 0.792(Blue area ratio). The 11 elastic measurements of prostate gland region were slightly correlated with age, prostate volume, blood flow parameters and total prostate specific antigen.43 in 56 patients had pure prostatic hyperplasia after postoperative pathological diagnosis and13 patients suffered prostatic hyperplasia and chronic inflammation.Strain mean, blue area ratio(%),skewness, consistency and contrast differ from each other significantly. There was no statistically significant difference between the 11 elastic dispersion quantitative indexes in the chronic inflammation group and the prostatic hyperplasia group. Conclusion: RTE dispersion quantitative analysis technique,as a noninvasive method, can be used to evaluate the degree of BOO obstruction by rectal ultrasound.
