Part One Evaluation of oral cancer quality of life scale based on classical measurement theory ObjectiveThe classical measurement theory was used to evaluate the quality of life scale of oral cancer patients and to provide a reliable tool for evaluating the quality of life.MethodsA questionnaire survey was conducted among 310 oral cancer patients who met the inclusion criteria. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were evaluated by correlation analysis, factor analysis.ResultsCorrelation analysis and exploratory factor analysis showed that the scale has good reliability and validity, the scale of the test-retest reliability was 0.85,the Cronbach's alpha coefficient is 0.94,Spearman-Brown split-half reliability coefficient is 0.90,Guttman split-half reliability was 0.85,with UWQOL as the criterion, the Spearman-Brown coefficient between two scales of total score was 0.73(P < 0.05),a total of 10 common factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 71.380%.ConclusionThe oral cancer quality of life scale has good reliability and validity, and can be used as a tool for assessing the quality of life of patients with oral cancer.Part Two Study on psychological distress and quality of life in patients with oral cancer ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between the status quo and influenced factors of oral cancer patients and quality of life.MethodsUsing the Distress Themometer(DT)and the University of Washington Quality of Life Questionnaire(UW-QOL),250 patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from October 2016 to September 2017 with oral cancer were investigated.Chi-square test,t-test,Logistic regression analysis and Spearman correlation analysis were used to analyze the data with the SPSS20.0 software. Results A total of 250 questionnaires were issued, valid questionnaires were 239 copies. In 239 oral cancer patients,139 patients(58.2%),had DT score ? 4 points. The average of total score of UWQOL scale was 53.3±17.1,score <4 points was noted in 100 patients(41.8%);the average of UWQOL scale was 52.8 ± 17.4.Univariate analysis showed that psychological distress was related to age, educational level, income level, pathological stage, jaw resection and recurrence(X2 values were 5.12,21.31,34.2,10.69,31.3,7.84,respectively P <0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age,jaw resection and relapse were the risk factors of psychological distress in patients with oral cancer(OR = 4.06,5.12,5.79,P <0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that the scores of pain, recreation, emotion and anxiety in UWQOL scale were negatively correlated with psychological distress scores(r =-0.58,-0.84,-0.66,-0.69,P <0.05).ConclusionOral cancer patients have a higher incidence of psychological distress;younger patients, and those with had maxillectomy and recurrence combined with psychological distress had more serious symptoms of distress.
