Objective To investigate and analyze the nutritional the implementation status of the nutri-tion improvement plan for rural compulsory education students(referred to as "the nutrition improvement plan")in different places,periods and feeding modes,and find the problems during the implementattions,so as to provide a reference basis for the better implementation plan in the fu-ion process to put forward targeted sugges-ture.Methods Three sample counties were selected from the nutrition improvement plan distic-tion in Henan province.The whole group was sampled from 4-6 grades or 7~8 grades classes in each grade.There were 2 classes in each grade,with no less than 35 stu-dents in each class.The sample size of students was not enough to randomly select the next class or school to supplement.Parent questionnaires were collected from 2 secondary schools and 2 primary schools in each country,one class one grade.And the questionnaire was taken home by students and filled by parents.In addition,the nutritional status of students was analyzed with the data of local students’physique monitoring.Results 1.Implementation of the nutritional improvement plan The serving meals in the canteen rates of the three sample counties were 77.7%,68.0%,100.0%,respec-tively and the total rate was 82.3%.The rates of the " published diet regularly " and"dining companion system" in the students eating in canteen were 53.9%and 50.4%,respectively.The rates of "three or more kinds of food are distributed every day" and"the teacher supervises students eating the dietary nutrition food" in the students hav-ing food during the classes were 98.4%and 65.8%,respectively.43.7%of the stu-dents were able to understand the content of the plan correctly.The rates of nutrition knowledge to students ranged from 21.3~67.8%.2.Satisfaction of students and their parents to the nutrition improvement plan In the students and their parents’ opinion,there were 9 benefits that eating in the canteen was better than having meal during the course and 4 benefits that having meal during the course was better than eating in the canteen.However,the students having meal during the course(84.4%)and their parents(98.6%)had higher overall satisfaction than those eating in the canteen(78.5%,93.1%)(P<0.05).Primary school students(87.6%)and their parents(96.1%)had higher overall satisfaction than middle schools(67.0%,90.2%)(P<0.05).There was a different in the overall satis-faction of the three sampled counties(82.8.79.0%.75.3%)(P<0.05).3.Phenomenon of the wasting food under the different feeding mode The wasted rates of "vegetable","grain","meat" were 47.4%,36.5%and 22.4%by stu-dents eating in the canteen,respectively.The problems they considered were that" few types","not tasty" " tired of eating".48.3%students having meals during the course could not eat up the nutritious food,and the main problems that they consi-dered were that the food they served were "few types","not tasty"," tired of eating".The main problems of the canteen considered by students were "too small","flatter-ing ground","poor service of staff’.4.Physical development and nutritional status of students Except the 15 year old boy,other all ages 7 to 15 years old boys and girls height in 2016 were high-er than the height of boys and girls in 2012(P<0.05).In 2016,the rate of growth retardation(2.8%),mild wasting(5.3%)and moderate and severe wasting(3.0%)in students were lower than that in 2012(5.5%,6.6%,3.7),and the overweight(9.4%)and obesity rate(6.8%)increased from 2012(7.8%,4.4%)(P<0.05).Conclusions 1.The implementation of the nutrition improvement plan is better in each trial county,but the school canteen is not well equipped with hardware and software.The students have a low level of nutrition knowledge,insufficient knowledge of nutrition improvement programs.2.Although students eating in the canteen and their parents believe that there are more benefits if eating in the canteen,they are less satisfied,which is mainly related to the lack of variety,taste,or satiation.There is a waste of nutritious food provided by the school in both feeding pattern.3.The average height and weight of the students increases in the implemented counties,but there is a phenomenon of malnutrition and overweight and obesity at present.
