Research On County-level Forest Management Planning

Forest management is an important measure to improve forest quality.Forest management planning is an important basis for guiding sustainable forest management.To implement the《National Forest Management Plan(2016-2050)》,promote the establishment of national,provincial,and county-level forest management plans system.This paper takes Wuwei County as the research object,based on the second-level survey data of forest resources in Wuwei County and its supplementary survey data,DEM elevation data in Wuwei County,according to county-level forest management planning standards,analyzing and evaluating forestland quality grade and forest management condition in county area by using GIS technology.Based on this,scientific and reasonable planning is carried out for each of the main aspects of forest type division,forest management classification,operation method design,functional area division,forest tending and so on to scientifically guide the forest management work of the county.The thesis research has very important practical significance for improving forest quality in Wuwei County,improving forest quality,and establishing a healthy,stable,high-quality and efficient forest ecosystem.Below are key research findings:(1)The area of forest land in the planning area of Wuwei County is30192.39hm~2,the area of forest land of grade II is 4337.87 hm~2,accounting for14.38%of the total area,that of grade III is 20558.58 hm~2,that of total area is 68.09%,that of grade IV is 5266.33 hm~2,that of total area is 17.44%,that of grade V is29.61hm~2and that of total area is 0.10%,grade III forest land is dominant.Analyzing the relationship between different quality levels of forest land and forest growth,propose forest cultivation planning and management and utilization direction,provided reference for the scientific and rational use of forest land in Wuwei County.(2)Based on the forest origin,tree species composition,near-naturalness,stand characteristics and management characteristics of Wuwei County,the forest types in the county are divided into natural secondary forests,artificial mixed forests,artificial broadleaved pure forests and artificial coniferous pure forests.(3)According to the dominant forest function and management purpose,comprehensive consideration of forest type,protection level and site conditions and other factors,the forest management type of Wuwei County is divided into two types of multi-purpose dual-use forest and intensively managed commodity forest.(4)The forest operation methods in the county are divided into clear cutting operation method of Chinese fir,clear cutting operation method of pine,clear cutting operation method of artificial hard broad-leaved pure forest,selective cutting operation method of broad-leaved mixed forest,selective cutting operation method of coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest,poplar plantation forest clearing operation method,bamboo forest operation method and economic forest operation method.The key technologies for the full-cycle management of each operation method such as afforestation and tending were formulated.(5)The county is divided into the western low mountain hills water conservation forest and economic forest management area,the central hilly plain farmland protection forest and timber forest management area,and the eastern riverside plain protection forest and timber forest management area;Analyzed the current status and existing problems of forest resources in various management areas,and formulated management analysis,management strategies and management objectives.
