Epidemiological Survey And Comprehensive Prevention In Dogs In Beijing

Bacterial external otitis in dogs is a common disease in dogs.The survey was carried out through epidemiological investigation,microbiological identification and drug sensitivity test.A systematic investigation was made on the incidence of bacterial ear diseases in dogs in some areas of Beijing.The survey included basic information on pets,such as breed,sex,age and so on.The history of diseases and visits to dogs should be recorded.By random sampling method,ear secretion were randomly chosen to vaccinate healthy dogs and we dentified otitis externa in samples for microbiological culture and drug sensitivity test in vitro.to cultivate the microorganism number,type and drug sensitivity test results were recorded respectively.The efficacy of the special drug selected in the drug sensitivity test was investigated.Finally,all the data obtained are statistically analyzed and drawn into a chart.According to the survey results of clinical cases,there were 470 cases of ear diseases,including 169 cases of bacterial otitis.The disease is mainly occurred in the summer,from July to September(78/204),and August was the peak of the onset of the disease.The sex difference between the dogs and the male was 1:1.07.Most of the cases of bacterial otitis media are monaural,and a few are bilateral.The susceptibility of different breeds of dogs to bacterial otitis externa was different.With the incidence of poodles was highest(15.19%),followed by Cocker Spaniels and Pekingese dogs;the age of onset was less than 5 years old(81.65%).In terms of Microbiology cultivation,the main isolates were Streptococcus(n=27),Corynebacterium(n=45),And staphylococcus bacteria(n=98).The other isolates were mainly Proteobacteria(n=10),Micrococcus spp.(n=9),Pseudomonas(n=8),oral Streptococcus(n=7)and Bacillus sp.(n=6),and 3 strains of bacteria were not identified.Fungi are mainly Malassezia(56/80).According to the experimental results,of 4 canine bacterial otitis externa drugs,ear special net(Clotrimazole And Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream)had the best clinical effect,which was mainly composed of clotrimazole,betamethasone valerate and gentamycin sulfate.The combination of the three has a synergistic effect with antifungal,anti-inflammatory and anti bacteria effect,effectively treating bacterial and fungal otitis externa.The main component of the ear net is itraconazole,the other components are the same as that of ear net,and the synergistic effect is better.Hydrocortisone and Neomycin Sulfate Earare less effective,but its corticosteroids are anti inflammatory,anti allergic,itching and reducing exudation,which can reduce and prevent tissue’s reaction to inflammation and eliminate fever,redness and swelling caused by local non infectious inflammation.Jindun ear oil is a relatively common pet ear oil,used fordaily healthcare,which are mainly composed of florfenicol and metronidazole.Florfenicol has strong antibacterial activity for many Gram-positive and negative bacteria,such as skin or ear disease in dog and cat.Metronidazole has a strong antibacterial effect on anaerobes.
