With the concept of ecological civilization, the state pays more and more attention to the development of forest management. The pilot project of financial subsidies for forest tending is an important measure for the connotative development of forest resources. However, with the development of the economy, the existing central government subsidy standards have been unable to meet the current needs of the current cost of forest tending. Therefore, this paper selects Linkou pilot units as a case for analysis, and clarifies the actual costs of forest tending in 2013-2017 through field surveys and data description and statistical analysis. And under the guidance of sustainable forest management, further explore the areas where the pilot unit’s forest tending work can be improved and improve the expenditures that need to occur,so as to study the difference between the tending costs and the subsidy standards and arrive at the requirements for sustainable forest management. The forest tends to raise central government subsidies. This paper draws the main conclusion:First, since the case was confirmed by the case unit, forest tending has achieved certain results.Second, the unit costs of the various types of forest tending in this case unit are much higher than the central government’s forestry care subsidy standard, and the insufficiency rate of the subsidy standard is 33%.Thirdly,there are differences between the related operational projects of this case unit and the sustainable management standards. The related costs of these differences should be incorporated into the new tending cost system and the newly determined subsidy standard.Fourth, the current standard of subsidy for the central government’s pilot funding for forest tending is relatively low.The subsidy standard required for sustainable forest management should be increased from the current 1 800 yuan/hm2 to 2 400 yuan/hm2 to 3000 yuan/hm2 and differentiation should be established.
