Nematode-trapping fungi are natural enemies of the nematode, and they are used to trap larvae of parasitic nematodes before they infect the livestock,so the infection and reinfection of animals could be prevented. In the current situation that chemical anthelmintics are widely used to deworm in our country, the mode of chemical anthelmintics and nematode-trapping fungus could be more effective on nematodes control than any single method in practice. In this pattern, the former acts on nematodes adults in domestic animals, while the latter acts on larvae developing from eggs which were excreted post anthelmintics administration. Therefore,in the study,a combination of nematode-trapping fungus-Duddingtonia flagrans and anthelminthics was studied in Helingeer of Hohhot and,Saraqi of Baotou,Xiqi of Hulunbeier, and Hohhot suburb.Firstly, the test with a combination of the spore suspension of D.flagrans and the anthelminthic was carried out.The results showed that the larvae reduction rate of the combination of D.flagrans and ivermectin was higher than that of the single drug group. The fungal group alone had no effect on the survival of adult nematodes in the animals and the production of eggs, and only captured and killed the larvae that had hatched from the eggs excreted in the feces. The above indicated that the combination of nematode-trapping fungus and anthelmintic was feasible and could achieve better effect on animal nematode control. In order to facilitate the combination of the spore suspension of D.flagrans and the anthelminthics in practice, firstly different proportions of freeze-dry chlamydospores of D.flagrans with anthelmintics were studied, and tablets of D.flagrans combined with albendazole drug and capsules of D.flagrans combined with ivermectin were prepared. After testing, larvae killing rates of the two combined formulations could reach about 95%in the laboratory, which provided an important foundation for further clinical research.A clinical trial was conducted on the fungus-anthelmintic preparation. The results showed that the average larvae reduction rate of the preparations reached 98.4%~97.0%(Albendazole and Ivermectin)post the 6th day(144h),and 60.7%~83.0% of reduction rate in single ivermectin or albendazole group, indicating that the combination of D.flagransand anthelmintics did not affect the normal exertion of drug efficacy, and saved manpower and material resources.Besides,it also facilitated the practical application of the fungus which might reduce the larvae developed on the grassland from the eggs. The results above confirmed that the combination of nematode-trapping fungus and anthelmintic drugs could achieve better effect on gastrointestinal nematode control than the use of nematode-trapping fungus or chemical anthelmintic alone; The successful preparation also provides an important basis for further application and development of nematode-trapping fungus production. So the value and significance of the preparation are self-evident.
