Urban green space is an indispensable part of urban environment.Ornamental plants are the core elements of urban green space.As we all know diverse plants have their own growth,and proper selection of ornamental plants suitable for local natural and geographical features is the basic prerequisite for the construction of urban green space.Yuxi is located in the middle of Yunnan province.In recent years,with the gradual improvement of urban construction level,higher requirements have been put forward for urban green space building.However,because of the high altitude and low altitude of the plateau,the terrain is complex and the climate is diverse.Therefore,how to achieve reasonable allocation of ornamental plants with the ecological rules has always been one of the problems that restricts the construction of local urban green space.In view of the practical needs of the use of ornamental plants in Yuxi,this study combines the analysis means of climate,biology,geographic information and research methods to distinguish the spatial differentiation characteristics of climate conditions from the regional scale,and to explore the selection scheme of urban ornamental plants under the conditions of differential environment.On this basis,the emphasis is focused on the decline of the urban ornamental plants in recent years.The cultivation suitability evaluation of some tropical and subtropical ornamental plants which have serious effects on the tropical and subtropical regions has been evaluated,and the species and the detailed regional scope of urban greening plants in different regions are clearly defined.First,the geographical information system combined with climate cluster analysis method was first used to study the environmental climate characteristics of Yuxi throughout the territory.The 75 towns in Yuxi were divided into 7 climatic zones,which were the northern plateau mountain area,the eastern Lake Basin plateau area,the Central Plateau Basin area and the North Central Plateau hilly region.Area,central and Southern Plateau hilly area,southeastern valley basin area,southeast mountain area.Secondly,the climate similarity model is used to analyze the global climate similarity of Yuxi climate zoning,which provides a more detailed scientific reference for the planning and selection of ornamental plants in the future.Then,using the niche model,the suitability of 10 native ornamental plants of Pistacia weinmannifolia,Phyllanthus emblica,Woodfordia fruticose,Mayodendron igneum,Dalbergia yunnanensis,Lannea coromandelica,Acrocarpus fraxinifolius,Terminalia myriocarpa,Heteropanax fragrans,Caryota urens was analyzed.C.urens had the highest degree of adaptation,followed by P.weinmannifolia,P.emblica,W.fruticose,and A.fraxinifolius.Besides,there are obvious characteristics of regional climate selection,such as M.igneum,D.yunnanensis,M.igneum,T.myriocarpa.The suitable index of H fragrans is low,and it is suitable for cultivation only in the dry hot valley.In addition,the adaptability of ten species of tropical and subtropical ornamental plants,including Ficus microcarpa,Ficus concinna,Ficus benjamina,Erythrina crista-galli,Plumeria rubra,Alstonia scholaris,Ficus elastica,Duranta repens,Handroanthus chrysanthus,Spathodea campanulate was analyzed.Among the analyzed species,F.concinna had the highest degree of fitness,followed by F.elastica,D.repens,E.crista-galli,and S.campanulate,but also had obvious climate selection characteristics.The four species of ornamental plants,P.rubra,A.scholaris,F.benjamina and F.microcarpa are relatively low in the Yuxi,and are only suitable for cultivation in some areas.The lowest degree of fitness is H.chrysanthus,which is suitable for cultivation only in dry and hot valleys.The study provides a more refined quantitative assessment and data support for the selection of ornamental plants in the construction of green land in Yuxi;it provides scientific references and research cases for the construction of urban ornamental plant planning evaluation system based on geographic information system and bio-climate model.At the same time,it also exploratively provides modern gardening solutions for the construction of ecological cities and digital cities.
