Study On The Garden Value Evaluation Of Ancient And Famous Trees

Ancient and famous trees are usually tall,graceful and rich in cultural connotations.They are rare natural and humanistic landscape in the city,and they are the precious legacy of nature.They have important garden value.In recent years,people pay more and more attention to the ancient tree landscape.The protection and utilization of ancient and famous trees is of great significance in urban construction and tourism landscape development.How to scientifically evaluate the garden value of ancient and famous trees is the most important problem to be solved in the conservation and landscape construction of ancient trees.However,there is no evaluation system for the garden value of ancient and famous trees.Based on this background,this paper discussed the construction of the evaluation system of ancient and famous trees in urban area,and took the ancient banyan tree in Gulou district as an example.The main findings are as follows:(1)On the basis of literature reading and consulting experts’opinions,using the analytic hierarchy process(AHP),the evaluation system of ancient and famous trees in urban areas was constructed from 4 aspects:landscape value,ecological value,cultural value and recreation value.Finally,an evaluation system consisting of 4 criteria and 15 indexes was formed.(2)In this paper,the entropy method and analytic hierarchy process was synthetically used to determine the comprehensive weight of index,so that the realistic rationality of the analytic hierarchy process was combined with the objectivity of the entropy method,and the rationality of weight was improves.This is the innovation of this study.According to Analytic hierarchy process(AHP),the weight of posture and odd characteristics(0.1948),tree size(0.1702),celebrity trace and historical witness(0.1564)is the largest;according to entropy method,religious folklore(0.1328),legends and anecdotes(0.1489),celebrity trace and historical witness(0.1328)and other cultural indicators have a large weight.The combined weights determined by the two methods can be arranged from high to low as follows:celebrity trail and historical witness(0.3273)>religious folklore(0.1896)>legends and anecdotes(0.0918)>posture and odd characteristic(0.0857)>location(0.0834)>long history(0.0431)>tree size(0.0392)>habitat(0.0379)>recreation feeling(0.0278)>activity richness(0.0278)>growth condition(0.0170)>recreation space(0.0155)>local identity and sense of belonging(0.0062)>accessibility(0.0043)>scientific research(0.0034).(3)Taking 92 ancient banyan trees in Gulou district as an example,the results show that:The garden value of 29 ancient banyan trees is of grade Ⅰ,36 strains is of grade Ⅱ and 27 strains is of grade III.The proportion of ancient banyan trees belonging to good and general grades is relatively large,so the garden value needs to be further improved.Among them,the top three trees were in Zhuzi road,the roundabout before the provincial government in Hualin road and Peixian Palace.with a score of 3.9 points or more.(4)Based on the analysis of the results of investigation and evaluation,it is found that the ancient and famous trees with high garden value are more prominent in posture or culture,while most of the old trees with low garden values have less cultural accumulation or the growth condition is poor.In view of these phenomena,this study puts forward a series of countermeasures to enhance the garden value of ancient trees,including:improve the habitat of ancient trees and protect tree body;rectify the surrounding environment to increase the coordination of the ancient tree landscape;adjust the viewing distan and viewing points;Excavate the history culture to promote the cultural connotation of ancient trees.The landscape utilization and transformation of ancient and famous trees shuold should be based on the protection of ancient trees,and do not destroy the habitat and growth potential of ancient trees.
