The mangrove ecosystem provides good environment for free living climbing, crawling, burrowing and sessile organisms.Mangrove forest provides the nursery and breeding grounds to number of aquatic organisms. It is estimated that the 90 percent of various significant aquatic species spend at least half of their life into the mangroves, linking the mangrove forests have intensive role with the biodiversity of the whole ecosystem.Mangroves are used by a massive collection of organisms as breeding, nursery and feeding areas. The mangroves reduce the coastal erosion during flash floods and stream flows and they are the best source to stabilize the water quality.Currently, the mangroves are facing stress due to different natural and human made threats that ensued into an imperative decline in forest cover since the last fifteen years. This research offers an efficient environmental, physiological and prior knowledge for upcoming research on mangroves of Miani Hor which helps in our understanding of the mystery of mangrove forests of Miani Hor.However,RS and GIS provide valuable information for mangroves management and land use change as the current study with Landsat ETM and up-to-date Google earth images can provide us exact information about the flora of mangroves as well as prove particularly the changement of mangroves from other land covers. We utilize Landsat data for the land use land cover changes with focus on mangrove ecology, for 2001-2016 beside the coast of Pakistan. We specially focus on Miani Hor and relied on the land use transfer matrix approach to measure land use land cover changes in the study area.My findings indicates that for the Miani Hor,the large amount of mangroves disappeared, whereas the amount of mangroves decreased from 5.63%in 2001 to 4.11%in 2016,with a total loss of 1.52%.In addition, these research studies provide such a significant awareness for strategical management and boost-up the local communities of the area.
