With the increase of cars,traffic accidents also increase,side collision accounts for a high proportion of all traffic accidents,when a side collision occurs,the curtain airbag can play a very good protection effect on the driver's head,but due to the difference of the driver's height and weight,the curtain airbag starts up The effect of the protection is also different.In that regulation,the drive side of the side impact adopts the World SID dummy design based on the size of the human body all over the world,which differs greatly from the size of the Chinese human body,therefore,it is of great significance to study the protection of the curtain airbag for the Chinese driver.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The automobile side impact,side impact dummy and curtain airbag are introduced in this paper.The difference of body height and body weight between Chinese 50-percentile adult male and World SID 50-percentile male dummy was 3.19% and 8.93% respectively.Chinese 50-percentile adult male was smaller than World SID dummy regardless of body height and body weight.(2)According to the data of a certain type of automobile provided by a manufacturer,the curtain airbag is designed,including the airbag coverage area design,the airbag design,the selection of the gas generator,the belt buckle and the belt pull design.The CAD model of curtain airbag is established by CATIA software.the mesh of curtain airbag is divided by HYPERMESH software.the mesh model is introduced into MADYMO software.the simulation model of curtain airbag is established by defining the attributes.The effectiveness of the curtain airbag model was verified by static initiation test and head hammer drop test.(3)Based on MADYMO software,the model of side impact restraint system is established,including vehicle body,seat belt,curtain airbag and World SID dummy model.The simulation experiment of the side impact constraint system model is carried out,and the validity of the side impact constraint system model is verified by comparing with the real vehicle collision test.Based on the World SID dummy model,the Chinese human body size dummy model is established by scaling,the Chinese dummy is located,and the difference between the two dummies is compared.(4)By means of finite element simulation,two kinds of dummy were simulated,and the protective effect of curtain airbag was analyzed by comparing the head injury,shoulder injury,chest injury,abdomen injury and pelvis injury of two kinds of dummy.In that case of side impact,three parameter of air bag triggering time,air mas flow rate and air permeability coefficient of fabric are respectively changed,and two kinds of artificial head injury are studied.(5)The results of the paper show that the distance between the World SID dummy and the interior is relatively long,the space of the dummy is relatively large,but the distance between the Chinese dummy and the interior is relatively short due to the forward movement of the seat,and the space of the dummy is relatively small for the two types of dummy The simulation experiment was carried out to observe the protective effect of curtain airbag on two kinds of dummy,and finally,the synthetic acceleration of head,lateral force of shoulder,displacement of upper and lower rib of chest,displacement of upper and lower rib of abdomen,peak value of pubic force of Chinese dummy were all smaller than those of World SID dummy,chest In addition,that viscosity index of the abdominal rib is higher than that of the World SID dummy;appropriately delay the triggering time of the air bag,increasing the gas mass flow rate,reduce the fabric air permeability coefficient can better protect the Chinese dummy,especially the fabric air permeability coefficient and reducing the fabric air permeability coefficient of the Chinese dummy's head The HIC value decreased by 5.3%.In order to ensure that the curtain airbag can better protect the Chinese driver,it is necessary to establish the Chinese dummy based on the size of the Chinese human body.
