With the rapid development of Internet of things technology,as an important cornerstone of Internet of things technology, wireless sensor network(WSN)has been widely used in many fields in recent years, such as military investigation, environmental monitoring, disaster warning and so on,because of its self-organization,large-scale and topology dynamic characteristics. However, due to the limited energy of sensor nodes, how to improve the energy efficiency of the nodes and extend the life cycle of the network is very important. The sensor nodes of this thesis are deployed in the underground tunnel.Aiming at the problem of unbalanced energy consumption caused by the long and narrow pipe structure of the underground tunnel,an energy-saving clustering routing protocol based on the underground tunnel is proposed. This protocol optimizes the performance of the network from many aspects and balances the energy consumption of the network. The main research work of this thesis is as follows:First of all,the research background and development status of WSN are described. The architecture, network characteristics and related technologies of WSN are introduced. At the same time, the characteristics and design requirements of WSN routing protocol,as well as the common classical protocols are summarized.Secondly,in view of the unbalanced energy consumption caused by the long and narrow pipeline structure of underground tunnel, this thesis proposes an energy-saving clustering routing protocol suitable for underground tunnel. This protocol proposes a new wireless sensor network model applied to underground tunnel, and deduces the optimal number of clusters to balance the energy consumption of the whole network;the size of clusters and the distribution of nodes in clusters are balanced by the election of large parent clusters;the reasonable cluster head is selected by considering the residual energy of nodes, the distance between nodes and base stations, and the local density of nodes. Finally,in order to verify the performance of the new protocol, through a large number of simulation results,it is proved that the new protocol improves the performance of the wireless sensor network in the underground tunnel.
