Permanent magnet(PM)machine design requires a lot of analysis and optimization for electromagnetic performance and topological structure in the initial stage in order to achieve the best performance.Equivalent magnetic network(EMN)has the advantages of fast calculation speed,moderate computation and simple parameterization,which is very suitable for the quick performance analysis and optimal design of PM machine.Therefore,EMN models for a hybrid rotor permanent magnet(HRPM)machine are developed,and a modular EMN modeling method accompany with a universal air-gap modeling method are proposed in the modeling process.Afterwards,the performance analysis and optimization of HRPM machine are carried out based on the proposed EMN models.As for analysis and optimization of HRPM motor based on EMN model,the specific ideas and main research results of this paper are as follows: 1.A traditional lumped parameter EMN(LPEMN)model and a mesh-based EMN(MEMN)model are developed according to the topological structure and magnetic field characteristics of HRPM machine.The solving flowchart of EMN method is described and the numerical calculation is completed by MATLAB.2.Parametric and modular MEMN modeling method is put forward to analyze the influences of PM migration angle and air barrier angle on the electromagnetic torque of HRPM machine,realizing the purpose of optimize the rotor structure by EMN model.3.In order to solve the problems of complex flux distribution,serious flux leakage,irregular flux path and complex solution in the air-gap,a general air-gap modeling method with variable flux path and invariable model structure is proposed.It is not only accurate,but also applicable to the air-gap modeling of other PM machines.4.The electromagnetic performance of HRPM machine are calculated by LPEMN model and MEMN model,such as flux linkage,back electromotive force,air-gap flux density and average torque.By comparing the results with those of finite element analysis(FEA)and experimental tests,the proposed EMN models are proved to have fast computation speed and reasonable calculation accuracy,which meets the requirements of rapid optimization and analysis of electromagnetic characteristics of PM machine in the early design stage.
