China is a vast country with dense water network and a large amount of sludge buried in many areas. With the development of economic development and the demand of construction,a large amount of sludge has been cleared out. What followed was the need to deal with the sludge in large quantities.Sludge often has the characteristics of high water content and low strength. How to properly treat the mud and apply it to engineering construction to meet the needs of engineering construction and environmental protection,as well as a certain economic type,is a major problem. The research object of this paper is the sludge at the bottom of the lake in Huainan City,Anhui Province. The research contents include the basic physical properties of the sludge, unconfined compressive strength, permeability and drying and watering cycle characteristics.Through a variety of different tests, such as unconfined compressive strength test, flexible wall penetration test, dry and wet cycle test,a series of studies on various properties of sludge solidified soil were carried out.It mainly includes the following contents and conclusions:(1)Determine the basic physical properties of the sludge through a series of tests such as water content, liquid plastic limit, and compaction, and investigate the curing test scheme by studying the curing mechanism of cement and ionic soil stabilizer.(2)The optimum ratio of the two curing materials was determined by the unconfined compressive strength test. The optimal ratio obtained in this paper is 6%cement content and 0.02%ionic soil stabilizer. After 28 days of standard curing, the strength of the solidified test specimen can reach 1.56 MPa.The stress-strain curve is used to demonstrate the solidification effect of the two materials on the sludge.(3)Analyze the unconfined compressive strength test, and establish a comprehensive strength prediction model considering the effects of cement content, curing agent dosage, water content and age in solidified soil.(4)The effect of the ionic curing agent on the permeability of the sludge was demonstrated by a flexible wall penetration test:the permeability coefficient of the sludge can be reduced by 17%.When it is cured with cement, the permeability coefficient is reduced by 13%compared to solidification of a single cement.(5)Through the drying and watering cycle test,it is proved that both the cement and the ionic soil stabilizer promote the sludge to resist the drying and watering cycle, and the effect of the cement is more obvious.Cement and ionic soil stabilizer have complementary effects from their respective curing mechanisms, while the incorporation of two cured materials is much better at resisting drying and watering cycles of sludge than mixing a single material.Figure 41 table 12 reference 87...
