Radar based Active Protection System is used more and more widely in the modern battlefield.Laser Radar,as an important branch of Radar technology,is being paid extensive concern in the recent years because of its high resolution,high hiding power and strong anti-active interference abilities etc.In this thesis,a kind of 3D dection method of target was studied which obtains the information of the target's distance through laser radar's dynamic range measurement technology.Based on comprehensively and thoroughly analysis of the development of active protection system and laser radar technology,aiming at the requirements of the active protection system,a laser radar based target detection and recognition system and the experiment setup were designed.The Lidar module,the 2D scanning system consisting of MCU controlling board,servo motor,step motor and displacement platform were choosed.The controlling program based on GUI interface was designed and debugged.The scanning in both directions(azimuth and elevation)were realized,and the 3D data were gained and mapped into point clouds in 3D coordinates system.The point clouds data were further processed to extract the information of the target such as break points and segments,thus target's distance,3D dimension and shape were gotten and a good foundation for the recognition of the target was laid.
