In the "13th Five-Year Plan for the Development and Utilization of Urban Underground Space" issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2016,the development and utilization of urban underground space will also have a considerable scale.Due to its large construction area, strong mobility of personnel, and concentration of combustible goods, underground commercial buildings pose a great threat to property and personal safety in the event of a fire. Therefore, reducing the difficulty in finding safe outlets is very important for people to escape safely. In the process of evacuation, personnel need to make decisions with the help of space environment information,in which visual information occupies a major position.Research shows that environmental lighting has an important influence on path finding, and identification is also an important basis for path finding. At present,China's basic research is lacking. It is of great significance to study the path-finding behavior of people under the influence of lighting and signage in underground commercial buildings. The research object is mainly the intersection area of underground commercial buildings.Firstly,by collating domestic and international literature and research results in related fields,as well as on-site investigation of underground commercial buildings in Chongqing and Chengdu,we have summarized the unfavorable factors in the guidance of underground evacuation of commercial buildings.Secondly, questionnaires were used to summarize the path selection methods for personnel evacuation in underground commercial buildings.Based on the preference of the evacuation path finding strategy, the virtual reality experiment method was used to create a virtual scene of underground commercial building's sudden fire, and the evacuation path finding behavior of the personnel was explored. The results showed that 51% of the subjects evacuated in accordance with the logo,21% returned in the original way,10% opted for evacuation in the direction of natural light, and the remaining subjects performed random evacuation.Compared with other evacuation strategies, the evacuation efficiency of people following identification and phototaxis is higher,so evacuation signs and lighting are better guided. The evacuation route selection under the combined effects of evacuation signs and natural lighting is further explored through virtual reality experiments. The experimental results show that 62.3% of the subjects observed evacuation markings at the T-junction and followed the instruction path for evacuation. The data analysis shows that there is no significant difference in the selection of human path choices in the natural lighting of the natural lighting path. Finally, two design countermeasures are proposed for underground commercial buildings, including natural lighting design in safe exit area and enhanced logo design in non-safety area natural lighting space, including three aspects: space-oriented design,logo-oriented design, and integrated lighting and signage design. It is hoped that research can provide a reference for the design of underground commercial buildings in the future.
