The research of the existing brush seals has mainly focused on the sealing performance of a single pure gas medium.Based on the aircraft engine spindle bearing cavity condition,with high rotation speed,variable pressure difference condition,gas and liquid two phase medium,high temperature,a new kind of gas-liquid two phase brush seal with non-metallic has been presented and researched for its leakage and heat transferperformance.Based on the gas liquid two phase porous media seepage theory,thebrush bundle area of gas-liquid two phase brush seal was treatmented as Non-Darcian porous media area.Established flow field model and the heat transfer model of gas-liquid two phase brush seal by using Fluent software.Respectively analyzed the pressure field,velocity field and temperature field of gas-liquid two phase brush seal.The influence of different structural parameters and operatingparameters on the leakage characteristics and heat transfer performance of gas-liquid two phase brush seals was simulated and analyzed using a numerical analysis model,and the range of preferred parameter values for each parameter was obtained.Different structural parameters was analyzed by orthogonal design about the influences on heat transfert ande sealing performance with structural parameters.And get the ranking of parameter that the influence on the leakage rate from heavy to light is brush wire diameter,wire brush thickness,backplane gap and brush wire free height.The gas-liquid two phase brush seal test bench is designed and manufactured,which is used to test seal.The error between the experimental results of hydrostatic test,variable pressure test,variable rotating speed test and the difference is less than fifteen percent.The feasibility of the gas-liquid two phase brush seal and its superior performance in the high-speed gas and liquid two phase condition are verified.This paper provides a design mentality and theoretical basis for the study of gas-liquid two phase seal by the study of gas-liquid two phase brush seal,which lays the foundation for enhance the aircraft engine spindle bearing cavity sealing performance.
