Butyl acetateis highly volatile in air, insoluble in water, and soluble in organic solvents, and has a wide range of applications in chemical, pharmaceutical and leather production.Because butyl acetate has flammable properties,it can form an explosive mixture with air and has strong irritancy, which poses a safety hazard to manufacturers, and it belongs to volatile organic compounds(VOCs).Therefore,it is necessary to recycle its exhaust gas.In the production of penicillin,a large amount of butyl acetate is produced. When these gases are discharged into the air, they will seriously pollute the environment and threaten human health,so they need to be recycled.According to the properties of butyl acetate, the exhaust gas treatment process is designed, and an exhaust gas treatment device is assembled according to the process, which can simultaneously perform absorption and desorption operations. The device has the advantages of energy saving and high efficiency, and small footprint.Study on the pressure drop of the tower and the absorption efficiency of butyl acetate exhaust gas by selecting three kinds of fillers in the laboratory. The order of the pressure drop of the three packings is 12 mm ceramic Raschig ring<16 mm metal Pall ring<6 mm metal sita ring.Among them, the 12 mm ceramic Raxi ring has the best absorption effect on butyl acetate. The butyl acetate waste gas was absorbed by the mixed solution of methyl oleate and ethyl oleate. The effects of absorbent temperature, filler layer height, and number of cycles of absorbent on the absorption of butyl acetate were studied.According to the emission standards of other industries in Tianjin VOCs,a double tower absorption process was designed and the optimum process conditions for achieving the emission standards were experimentally studied. The results showed that under certain conditions, when the height of the filler layer was 1000 mm and the absorbent temperature was 10?,the absorption rate of butyl acetate can reach 94.4%.Absorption of the absorbents reduced the absorption rate rapidly, and the absorption rate was stable at 91.3%after desorption. In the double tower absorption, when the absorbent flow rate was 3.7 L/h,the gas flow rate into the tower was 2.0 m3/h,and the absorbent temperature was 10?,the final concentration of butyl acetate was less than 80 mg/m3,which reached the emission standards for other industries in Tianjin VOCs.Non-ionic surfactants were used as absorbents to absorb butyl acetate waste gas.The absorption effects of different types of Tween surfactants and Span-80 on butyl acetate exhaust gas were studied. The effects of absorbent temperature, liquid to gas ratio, and tower concentration on the absorption rate of butyl acetate waste gas were analyzed using a compounded surfactant as an absorbent. The results showed that Tween-80 aqueous solution had the highest absorption rate of butyl acetate. After adding Span-80,it could not only eliminate the foaming phenomenon but also increase the absorption rate of butyl acetate, and the larger the addition amount, the larger the absorption rate. The butyl acetate waste gas was absorbed by a Tween-80 with a volume concentration of 3.0%and a 3.0%Span-80 aqueous solution, when the absorbent temperature was 10?,the exhaust gas flow rate was 1.0 m3/h,and the liquid-gas ratio was 15 L/m3,the butyl acetate absorption rate can reach 90.65%.The absorption rate of the absorbent after cyclic desorption was 81.21%,and the absorption rate decreased slightly with increasing desorption times. The aqueous surfactant solution has a lower absorption rate for butyl acetate than the ester compound, but the total cost of the surfactant aqueous solution is lower. In actual engineering applications, enterprises can consider alternately using two kinds of absorbents according to their actual conditions to achieve the desired treatment effect.
