The conglomerate reservoir composed by multi-stage sands, have the feature of complex reservoir connectivity, low porosity and strong reservoir heterogeneity, that result in negative water flooding response and low degree of recovery.Considering the characteristics of conglomerate reservoir and exploitation problem,it has a significance to study reasonable flooding patterns and fracturing mode to improve waterflood performance. In this paper, reservoir engineering knowledge and numerical simulation method are used to optimize the waterflood performance of conglomerate reservoirs. The results show that:(1)On the basis of modal subdivision of the conglomerate reservoir,we use fractal approach of porous media to deduce the formula of permeability and porosity of the conglomerate reservoir and analyze the influence factors.(2)Based on the research of geologic feature of connected sand in the fourth bedding plane of the conglomerate reservoir,we can classify three typical modes of effective connected component of conglomerate reservoirs. It is shown that, the numerical simulation method based on the typical modes of effective connected component can well simulate the production characteristics of the conglomerate reservoirs.(3)Numerical simulation models of different typical modes are built by numerical simulation software Petrel and Eclipse to research the effect of geologic factor, well pattern and hydraulic fracture parameters on the impact of the waterflood performance.(4)Finally considering the geologic characteristic and the development status of a conglomerate reservoir in the Shengli Oilfield, combined with the feature of different typical modes and gives the fracturing and waterflood exploitation methods of the conglomerate reservoirs. The optimal well pattern of Yan22 reservoirs is that two production wells inject water after five years natural depletion period in the north field and waterflood by closely-spaced infilling wells after five years natural depletion period in the south field.
