Jiangsu Province locate in the Yangtze River Delta region, full of river system and extensive aquaculture products.Meanwhile, with increasing of industry, the environmental impacts cause serious problem for aquaculture, and through the ecological food chain, the pollution will eventually enriched in human body and cause human health issues. In this study, targeting the Polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs)and heavy metal, investigation and risk assessment have been conducted in farm-raised Ietalurus Punetaus.Distribution potential sources tracebility have been investigated for18 polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs)in water, sediment and fish body, which sampled from the region of Haian,Dongtai,Dafeng,Sheyang. The results showed that total PCBs in water ranged from 0.2 to 11.9 ng.L-1,4.2 ng L-1 in average;for sediment, total PCBs ranged from 178.4 to 457.2 ng kg-1,averaged to 341.1 ng kg-1.For fish, different enrichment of PCBs have been found in different tissues, the total concentrations of PCBs ranged 1.28?267.96 ng kg-1?0.64?95.46 ng kg-1?1.20?45.94 ng kg-1 for fish muscle meat, liver, intestines and stomach, respectively. For different regions, the PCBs contents in muscle meat, liver, intestines and stomach were profiled as Haian(432.71 ng kg-1?138.43 ng kg-1?61.88 ng kg-1)>Sheyang(359.60 ng kg-1?131.61 ng kg-1?54.13ng kg-1)>Dongtai(307.75 ng kg-1?85.90 ng kg-1?51.95 ng kg-1)>Dafeng(218.92 ng kg-1?83.51 ng kg-1?50.45 ng kg-1)in descend order. No statistical significant difference have been found among these four locations. The CB-28,114,52 dominant in all homologue. The tendency of total PCBs pollution was found to be declined gradually from south of Jiangsu province to the north.Seasonal shift of PCBs and source tracebility have been studied. The results revealed that types and concentrations of PCBs varied along with season. For water,PCBs concentration ranged from 0.96 to 11.61 ng L-1 in spring and 1.16 to 5.41 ng L-1 in autumn. For sediment,PCBs ranged from 189.21 to 394.91 ng kg-1 in spring and 104.49 to 250.59 ng kg-1 in autumn.in muscle meat of fish,PCB ranged from 206.13 to 432.71 ng kg-1 in spring?102.87 to 164.08 ng kg-1 in summer and 139.14 to 205.87 ng kg-1 in autumn.Independent-Samples t-test showed statistical significant different of total PCBs among spring?summer and autumn samples. The analysis of distribution, patterns and seasonal variations indicated that the different potential sources of PCBs in the farm-raised environment and fish bodies.PCBs in the area changed with seasonal shift, sample collected in spring generally contains higher PCBs than in the sample collected in autumn.Analysis of PCBs pattern and PCA shows that the pollution source may be traced to surface runoff, air transport and industrial sewage.Risk assessment of Ecological toxicology showed that PCBs in water and sediment presented low potential risk to ecological systems and human health.Investigation of heavy metals show that the heavy metals in water, sediment, fish, fish liver and stomach to be 5.3 25.9,20239-31260,27.3,71.1,78.4,78.4 and 49.8 to 108.2 ug kg-1,respectively.For different heavy metal, the average concentration of heavy metals in fish were profiled as Pb>As>Cd>Hg in descend order. For different fish tissue, the total concentrations of heavy metals in fish were profiled as liver>intestines and stomach>muscle meat in descend order.Exposure risk assessment results show that risk of people in the region by daily intake of fish muscle meat can be ignored.Risk assessment of non-carcinogenic risk and carcinogenic risk showed that total non-carcinogenic risk of PCBs and heavy metals is less than the threshold value of 1.0,implied that people faced low risk by eating fish, and also faced low carcinogenic risk, which remained in acceptable level, but As was the main contributor for the carcinogenic risk.
