Oxford fabric made of 600 D polyester filaments,which have strong breaking and tearing strength,is stiff and rough.It can be used as military high-level camouflage fabric for tents,as well as civil fabric.However,due to the high crystallinity of 600 D high-strength polyester filaments fiber,there are a series of problems in its camouflage printing.At present,the majority of camouflage textiles are mainly printed using paints,the main components of which are inorganic pigments.There are a number of problems with inorganic pigments printing on 600 D high-strength polyester filament fabric,such as poor permeability and low spreadability of the printing paste on the fabric,bad compatibility between inorganic pigments and the fabric,sticky surface of the printing surface,staining,sticking and blocking of the net,poor hand feeling of the printing products and low rubbing fastness,and so on.In this study,different coupling agents were used to do surface modification of the inorganic pigments,combing the company's technology development requirements.The compatibility between the pigments and the fabric was improved,the permeability of the printing paste was increased and many other problems of 600 D filaments printing were resolved through systematical study on the surface modification,recipe of the paste and printing conditions,which have great significance to the improvement of its use value and enlargement of camouflage printed fabric.Different coupling agents,including silane KH-550,KH-570 and titanate TMC-311 were firstly used to do surface modification of the inorganic pigments.The interaction between the coupling agents and the pigments and the fabric was studied.SEM and FTIR were used to characterize the morphology and structure of the pigments before and after modification.The water-holding capacity,net permeability,stickability,rubbing fastness,color shades and color yield were studied.Through comparison with the traditional crosslinking agent M,silane KH-550 was chosen for the surface modification of inorganic pigments and the optimum dosage was 0.45% of the paste.On the basis of the study on coupling agents,the effect of binding agent,amino silicon oil and curing conditions such as curing temperature and time on the printing properties and the thickening performance of thickening agent FS-66,DM-5262 A and WF 301 were also investigated.The results showed that,the optimum concentration of inorganic pigment chromium iron brown,coupling agent KH-550,binding agent DM-5126,thickening agent WF 301,silicone oil 2116 and water was 15.00%,0.45%,30.00%,2.50%,1.00%and 51.05%,respectively.The printing fabric was cured at 160 ? for 3 min.The printing fabric using this paste has good rubbing fastness and excellent hand feeling.Three inorganic pigments with different colors were mixed to obtain mixed paste with new colors and the printing property was studied.The color fastness to rubbing,washing and light of the printing fabric after compounding was 4,4-5 and 5-6 level,respectively.The breaking and tearing strength could be up to 2000 N and 200 N,respectively.The electrostatic half-life was no more than 6 s.The printing fabric has high infrared reflectivity,which could reach 60% at 1080 nm.The printing pigments and paste after modification have excellent applicability.
