As the most important processing equipment for extrusion,screw extruder was widely used in the processing of various polymer products.The conventional single-screw extruder melted and plasticized polymer through shear force field,which easily caused problems such as energy waste and material degradation.Scholars had found that the vibration field could reduce the polymer melt viscosity,thereby reduce the extrusion pressure and power consumption.At present,most of the vibrating equipment only applied vibration during a short period of processing,with small vibration amplitude and low frequency.Most of vibrating equipment was too large and complex with unstable operation,so the advantages of vibration processing were not fully developed.In this paper,a screw exciter based on a swash plate was developed and applied to a single-screw extruder.A ingenious mechanical structure was used to realize the coordination of the screw's rotation and axial vibration,and high-intensity vibration was successfully realized.The force field was introduced into the entire process of extrusion,and a new kind of equipment was provided for the research field of polymer dynamic processing.It had important scientific and practical value.This paper discussed the structure and working principle of the exciter based on swash plate,established a simplified dynamic model,studied the load characteristics of the exciter for screw axial vibration,analyzed the amplitude-frequency characteristics and phase-frequency characteristics of the screw's axial vibration in the dynamic extrusion process.The vibration system's parameters were calculated by experimental data.At the same time,the comprehensive working characteristics of the dynamic extruder were analyzed,and those were studied using low-density polyethylene.The results showed that the screw realized high-strength axial vibration through the exciter based on swash plate.The equipment had a compact structure and stable operation.Vibration amplitude could be adjusted by changing the vertical position of the swash plate,vibration frequency was consistent with the rotational speed of the drive motor.In the working frequency range,dynamic amplitude amplification factor of low-frequency was greater than that of high-frequency,and gradually decreased with the frequency increased;the vibration exciter had good axial stiffness and loading affordability,the dynamic extruder's extrusion pressure and power consumption decreased with screw axial vibration strength increased.The extrusion flow rate improved.
