PES(Polyether sulfone)is a new type of high temperature resistant thermoplastic polymer materials.PES fiber can be prepared by melt spinning process under suitable conditions.In this theme,fine-denier PES fiber was obtained by the blended spinning for the very first time.Phase structure of the blends,spinnability and spinning process were systematically explored,and then the morphology and mechanical properties of the blend fibers were studied detailedly.PES was blended with three kinds of PA6 through melt extrusion,and the melt liquidity and uniformity of the blends were observed.The melt index of the PES /PA6 blends were measured under different temperatures and different compositions,then the suitable PA6 was choosed to be blend-spun with PES.The compatibility and thermal stability of the blends was measured,and then the morphological structure of blend fibers was observed and mechanical properties of blend fibers were measured.The results show that melt liquidity of PES was significantly improved,melt viscosity and spinning temperature were reduced.As a result,the spinnability of PES was dramatically improved.and PA6 with bigger viscosity larger was blended with PES more homogeneous.PES /PA6 blends with appropriate temperature and compositions show the sea-island phase structure,in which PES is the island phase and PA6 is the sea phase.Thermal analysis results show that the initial thermal decomposition temperature of PES /PA6 blends with different compositions was rather consistent.In addition,PES can improve crystallinity of PA6,but the crystallization temperature and melting temperature were not affected.The PES /PA6 blend fibers were prepared successfully for the first time,and the spinning temperature of the blends with different compositions was between 315 ? ~ 340 ?,and the winding speed was in the range of 100 m/min ~ 400 m/min.PES fiber network can be obtained after the dissolution of PA6 in which a number of fibers' diameter is less than1?m.On the other hand,the PES /PA6 blend fibers can be draft in the appropriate conditions,and the breaking strength and the breaking elongation of blend fibers can meet the requirements for general fibers.The influences of place time and heat setting on the blend fibers were studied in detail.
