Flocculation clarification is one of the important processes in the sugar industry. Sugarworkers constantly working to improve and perfect the flocculation clarifying process andmethod, however, in-depth study of the mechanism are still lacking. The article studied the zetapotential in the flocculation process for clarification of sugar juice.Reveals bleaching flocculationmechanism. Provide a theoretical basis for further improve the bleaching process to clarify. The maincontents of studies were as follow:1. The article studied the zeta potential in the syrup flocculation process for dissolvedsyrup of brown granulated sugar, and explored the feasibility of the optimization offlocculation technology for dissolved Syrup of Brown Granulated Sugar by using zetapotential analysis. The effects of pH, calcium chloride dosage, calcium hydroxide dosageand flocculating agent dosage were discussed. The result shows that the best Zeta potential is-3.1mV, under the optimal conditions: calcium hydroxide dosage of5g/L, cationicpolyacrylamide dosage of0.016g/L?the best clarification rate is41.67%, under the optimalconditions: calcium hydroxide dosage of4g/L, cationic polyacrylamide dosage of0.014g/L,the best turbidity is865.26, under the optimal conditions: calcium hydroxide dosage of4g/L,cationic polyacrylamide dosage of0.014g/L.Zeta potential, decolorization rate andturbidity as optimum conditions were investigated. It indicated that the optimum optimizedconditions were consistent. Zeta potential measurements to optimize dissolved Syrup ofBrown Granulated Sugar dissolved syrup back flocculation process were feasible. Zetapotential could reflect the nature of the clarify and flocculation process, and the studyprovided theory basis for the optimum dosage of the clarifying agent and flocculating agent..2. The paper is taking Remel Syrup of Brown Granulated Sugar as the object, simulatedflocculation clarifying decoloring process of the sulfite method of sugar juice, and studiedthe zeta potential in the syrup flocculation process for sugar juice with Sulfurous acidmethod. The effects of the Zeta potential changes in addition Ash, sulphur fumigatedneutralization, flocculation and different flocculating agent in the process of flocculationsedimentation were discussed. The result shows that in add grey process, with the increase ofthe added amount of ash,the absolute value of Zeta potential of sugar juice were reducedrapidly; in sulphur fumigated neutralization process, along with the increase of intensity ofsulphur fumigated, the absolute value of Zeta potential of sugar juice were decreases slowly;the absolute value of Zeta potential of sulphur fumigated juice with the increase of addingflocculating agent, continues to slow down to minimum. Sugar juice from add ash to sulphur fumigated neutralization and flocculation sedimentation, the whole process of the absolutevalue of Zeta potential is reduced, the repulsive force between particles continuouslyreduced, the stability of the dispersion system was poor, at last coagulation and flocculationoccur.3. The paper is taking cane mixed juice as the object, simulated flocculation clarifyingdecoloring process of the sulfite method of cane mixed juice, and studied the zeta potentialin the syrup flocculation process for cane mixed juice with Sulfurous acid method. Theeffects of the Zeta potential changes in the dosage of Calcium hydroxide, sulfurous acid, phosphoric acid and flocculants, addition Ash, sulphur fumigated neutralization, flocculationand different flocculating agent in the process of flocculation sedimentation were discussed. The result shows that in add grey process:With the increase of the dosage of Calciumhydroxide, sulfurous acid, phosphoric acid and flocculants, the absolute value of Zetapotential of cane mixed juice were reduced; when the absolute value of Zeta potentialreaches a minimum value and then began to appear the tendency of increase; In theflocculation clarifying decoloring process of the sulfite method, the absolute value of Zetapotential of cane mixed juice reduce continunously, the absolute value of Zeta potential issmall change in the addition Ash process, the absolute value of Zeta potential of cane mixedjuice is rapidly decreases in the sulphur fumigated neutralization process, the absolute valueof Zeta potential slowly reduce to the minimum in the process of flocculant; The cationicpolyacrylamide flocculant compare with anionic polyacrylamide flocculant, the reduction ofthe extent of the absolute value of Zeta potential is greater, the flocculation is better.Thisstudy better reveals the sulfite process flocculation clarifying the nature of the process fromthe angle of the Zeta potential.4. The paper is taking Brown Granulated Sugar syrup system and water system as theobject, simulated flocculation clarifying decoloring floc formation process of the sulfitemethod of sugar juice, Based on the theory of Zeta potential and studied the zeta potential inthe syrup flocculation process for sugar juice with Sulfurous acid method. The effects of thedifferent systems, phosphate acid, sulfurous acid and the dosage of phosphoric acid andsulfur acid were discussed. And by comparing the change of Zeta potential of flocculationmixing juice in the two systems, combined with the particle size distribution curves, SEMcharacterization of micro gel group of floc structure and morphology, to clarify by sulfiteprocess application and improvement to provide technical support. The results shows that, the absolute value of Zeta potential mixture along with the increase of phosphate rapidlydecreased In Brown Granulated Sugar syrup system and water system; the absolute value ofZeta potential changes more significant In water system than in Brown Granulated Sugar syrup system. In Brown Granulated Sugar syrup system and water system a potential of redsugar system; phosphoric acid and sulfite synergies generated by the sediment is not easy todisperse, floc density increases. Phosphoric acid and sulfite synergies generated by thesediment is not easy to disperse, floc density increases. This study from the angle of the Zetapotential, auxiliary particle method such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), reveals theessence of sulfite method flocculation settling process.
