At present,the coupled model that comprehensively considers the interaction of atmosphere-ocean-wave has become a hot spot in the research of wind wave prediction for its improved accuracy compared with the single wave model.As the coupled model becomes more and more prominent by the enhanced accuracy of the predicting waves,the systematic quantitative evaluation of the wave prediction effect of the coupled model is of great nessecary before its quasi-business operation.In this paper,the Simulating Waves Nearshore(SWAN)model is used to simulate the wave in the western Pacific Ocean,the South China Sea and the Marginal Seas of China for one year.The simulated wave heights are consistent well with the observed wave heights,they are significantly correlated.The SWAN has good stability and reliability as the wave component model in the coupled model.Afterwards,for the typhoon waves under the influence of a “binary typhoons” in the key sea area,the prediction of the regional mesoscale sea-air wave coupling model shows that the model can simulate the effective wave height distribution and change trend reasonably,i.e.the coupled model has the ability to reproduce the evolution characteristics of the wave under the influence of binary typhoons.In contrast,the wave height predicted through the coupled model is closer to the observation in the large typhoon wave area than that of the single SWAN model,and thus the forecasting ability of the coupled model is relatively better.Finally,a series sensitivity test studies on the physical processes of ocean waves in the model are designed,then the optimal parameterization schemes' combination of the physical processeses of the ocean wave component in the coupled model for the key sea region is found.Thus a quasi-business wave prediction model is set up with the coupled model,whose wave component model is the SWAN model with the optimal schemes especially.The performance the quasi-business model is evaluated based on the actual business environment.The results are helpful to systemically understand the ability of ocean wave forecasting through the coupled model,but also construct an objective quantitative basis for the development of quasi-business forecasting,and set a good example for the continuous improvement typhoon waves' forecast through the coupled model.
