In the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the goose-head type bifurcation channel is a common type of the bifurcation river.Under certain water and sand conditions, the main stream is easy to swing, the main branch is frequently translocated, and the erosion and sedimentation of the trough is severe, which restricts economic and social benefits in terms of flood control, shipping and shoreline utilization. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to carry out research on the response of the gosling-type bifurcation channel to the water-sand process. On the basis of summing up the domestic and foreign research results, this paper combines the measured data analysis and the generalized model test of Hankou hydrological station to comprehensively study the river hydraulic characteristics and river channel erosion and sedimentation characteristics of the goose-head bifurcation channel. The main contents of this article are as follows:1.Through the analysis of the measured data and the generalized model of the Hankou hydrological station, the study reveals the horizontal and vertical ratio of the water of the goose-head bifurcation channel, the variation of the average flow velocity along the section, the bed shear stress and flow velocity distribution and flow rate under different flow conditions.2.Through the analysis of the measured data of the Hankou hydrological station and the generalized model moving bed test, the law of water flow in the goose-head bifurcation channel under the unsaturated and saturated sediment transport conditions is revealed in this paper, including the evolution of the river regime, the sway of the deep squat line, and the evolution of the characteristics of scouring and silting.3.Through the measured data of Hankou Hydrological Station and Jiujiang Hydrological Station,a new water-sand matching coefficient is proposed, and the results of the generalized model moving bed test are analyzed and verified.
