Based on the precipitation data of 824 stations in China during 1951-2012,the Hadley Center monthly sea surface temperature data from 1900 to 2016,and the NCEP/NCAR monthly reanalysis data, the inter-annual,decadal variability and secular trend of sea surface temperature anomaly(SSTA)in both Pacific and Indian Ocean, using Rotated Extended-EOF Function are analyzed.By focusing on the principal components' periodic characteristics as well as the oscillations, the complementary ensemble empirical mode decomposition(CEEMD)associated with wavelet analysis is applied. Finally, the impact on precipitation anomaly over Central-East China induced by anomalous air-sea interactions over Indo-Pacific Ocean is investigated by using the canonical correlation analysis. The results showed that:(1)The Warm pool El Ni?o(CP-El)changed abruptly during 1946-1956,due to the combination of the decrease of its qusi-4 year and qusi-10 year cycle strength.(2)There is strong relationship between CP-El and Eastern Pacific El Ni?o(EP-El)on their qusi-4 year circulation,EP-El variability changes faster than EP-El about one year over their qusi-4 year-period.(3)EP-El has a persistent impact on the variability of Indian Ocean, which contributed to the maintenance of the Indian Ocean Basin Mode(IOBM),with its key area located around the western coast off Australia.Meanwhile the CP-El is an effective forcing mechanism to the establishment of negative phase of SIOD(NSIOD).(4)EP-El variability significantly affects the precipitation over Southern China from May to September,by strengthening water vapor transportation to Southern China, and low-level convergence and upper-level divergence, during its developing-mature phase.(5)CP-El variability contributes to the precipitation over Northern and Northeast China, due to its impact on the anomalous cyclone over Northwest China and the anomalous anti-cyclone over northwestern Pacific, which can strengthen the water vapor flux to Northern and Northeast China.
