A survey was conducted to study the spatial distribution characteristics of ant species on the Mangrove in Dongzhaigang by the sample plot,pit-fall trap method and bait method,in order to reveal the distribution patterns and ecological indicator significances of ant communities in Dongzhaigang.According to the results of this survey,a total of 32 species belonging to 17 genera and 5 subfamilies of Formicidae was recorded on Mangrove in Dongzhaigang.The four regions distribution of Dongzhaigang among them,the ant species is the most richest in Daoxue,Tashi is next to Daoxue,Hegang is next to Tashi,too;the least abundant species is in Sanjiang-Luodou.The low interference mangrove species arre more abundant,in different mangrove habitats.The Camponotus vitiosus,Monomorium floricola and Crematogaster rogenhoferi are the most widely distributed species,occupying the widest range of habitats.Based on the analysis of community similarity,it was found that the community similarity of the composition of ant species in Dongzhaigang was not high among the four major sites and the nine habitats.On the whole,the similarity of species composition between the high disturbance habitats and the high disturbance habitats with other habitats were high,but the large area and low interference coppice with other habitats is generally low.Based on the analysis of ecological indicator value(IndVal),7 species of ants were found which have certain directive significance,but the two of them is not sure.The distribution pattern of ants were determined by habitat conditions and diffusion limitation,in this investigation,strong interference open area between Mangrove patches make not only the high disturbed habitat species have the tendency of homogeneity,but also the species composition of the low disturbance habitat is obviously different because of the low connectivity of the landscape.It is necessary to carry out further studies to better reveal the ecological indicator function and the formation and maintenance mechanism of the ant community of Dongzhaigang.
