With the continuous improvement of living standards in our country,the third party financial company who provides financial services for the high net worth individuals have been set up accordingly.As the core resources of the third party financial companies,the training of wealth managers has become the primary strategy for the development of enterprises.And how to recruit,training,assessment of wealth managers has become a major problem of enterprises.This article adopts the classic paradigm of competency research,Behavioral Event Interview and questionnaire investigation to explore the competency which the wealth managers should equip.First,the writer uses the EBI to talk with 20 wealth managers of a third party financial company H in Shanghai,and achieves 10 basic elements of competency according to the analysis of the interview:1)Initiative.2)The ability and skills of communication.3)The establishing of relationship.4)Professional knowledge and skills.5)Achievement Orientation.6)The understanding of success.7)Customer service awareness.8)Resilience.9)Self-control.10)Confidence.Then,according to the 10 basic elements of competency,the writer uses Li Kete's Five Scaling Method to create the web survey questionnaire.The writer distributes the questionnaire to the 120 wealth managers of H and finds out 4 different dimensions of the third party financial manager competency model through comprehensive analysis:1)Occupation accomplishment dimension.2)Relationship and communication dimension.3)Professional knowledge and skills dimension.4)The establishing of relationship dimension.The reliability coefficient of the 4 dimensions are 0.938,0.874,0.849,0.822.The reliability coefficient of the questionnaire is 0.953 which means the results of the study have a good overall reliability.Finally,the writer states the significance and deficiencies of this article.
