The Impacts Of Agglomeration Externalities On Enterprise Innovative Performance

With the development of technology,technological innovation of enterprise also presents the growing complexity and cross-disciplinary characteristics,in this process,the daily management of the enterprise resources are gradually involved in more fields,the traditional mode,relying on a single enterprise production mode has been unable to satisfy all the technical knowledge and resources enterprise needed.In this case,open innovation model can be a important development direction in the development of enterprise innovation management and practice,and become a new model for enterprise to use and integration the external innovation resources,and to improve the enterprise innovation performance.Under the background of knowledge economy,this will play an important role in promoting regional technology development,and this effect is mainly depended by two externalities: the first is a specialization externalities;The second is diversification externalities.This paper mainly based on agglomeration economy theory,resource-based theory and external economy theory,study is around "the relationship between agglomeration externalities and innovation performance",and discusses the different openness effects on relationship between agglomeration externalities and innovation performance,and found that industry heterogeneity influence,this paper select data from 2005 to 2015,and choose pharmaceutical manufacturing and electronic and communication equipment manufacturing industry as the research sample for studying the empirical analysis.The results show that the difference of agglomeration degree can lead to differences agglomeration externalities influence on the performance.Diversification and specialization of agglomeration and cluster degree has different influence on enterprise innovation performance,we found that when the degree of concentration is in a lower status,Specialization externalities will be conducive to enterprise innovation performance,at this time of diversified agglomeration decreased the enterprise innovation performance;if concentration degree is in a high degree,Specialization externalities will be conducive to the innovation performance of the enterprise,while at this time diversified agglomeration promotes innovation performance.The results also show that openness can promote diversified agglomeration effect on firms' innovation performance.For different industries,due to difference technological system existence,the regulating effect of openness also revealed a significant difference.In the study of electron and communication equipment manufacturing industry,the openness of the regulatory role of diversified externality effects and innovation performance is more sensitive,and in the study of pharmaceutical manufacturing,the influence of openness to specialization externalitiesand innovation performance is not verified.
