Moderator "non-role Performance" Research

The "non-role performance" of comperes, as a foreground action, is analyzed in this paper. Firstly, two controversial concepts in the theoretical research on comperes, "performance" and "role", are defined and interpreted. According to the author, "performance" in the "non-role performance" is a broad concept and refers to social performance. However, some similarities between comperes (a special occupation) and drama performance lead to the result that people usually confound comperes' performance with "role play" of dramatic art. Through summarizing and analyzing the concept of "role" in the "non-role performance" of comperes, it is believed that comperes play three roles simultaneously, including social role, media role and personal role. Furthermore, the causes of the "non-role performance" of comperes are explored from the core aspects of "masque", "ego" and "model role" in this paper.On this basis and in the horizon of Social Dramatic Theory, the performance forms of comperes'"non-role performance" are explored and the frame structure of comperes'"non-role performance" is built in this paper. From the perspective of comperes'script and improvisation, the author analyzes the following three aspects: (1) the normal procedures of comperes'"non-role performance"; (2) two performance bodies of comperes'"non-role performance", including program production team and the audience; and (3) the performance areas of comperes'"non-role performance", including foreground and background. Furthermore, the influences of foreground-background conversion and background actions with the foreground feature are explored.The necessity of impression management of comperes'"non-role performance" and impression management strategies are analyzed and studied finally in this paper. Meanwhile, the foreground-background image building of comperes'"non-role performance" and the mage building of "non-role performance" from different types of TV hosts are analyzed briefly in this paper.
