Liu Zhi's "Aesthetic Principles" Will Be Studied In The Confucianism

This article is the study on the problem of the comprehension and communication of the Arabic Islamic Culture and the Chinese Confucian Culture(including its interchangers with the Chinese Buddhism and Taoism)by the work of Liu Zhi who is a famous Muslim scholar and is called one of the four great translators: Tianfang Xingli.By the methods of the text interpretation and comparative analysis,this article has focused on illuminating how Liu Zhi not only accurately report the Sufism thought,and skillfully integrate at the same time as the mainstream culture of Confucianism,and seek the understanding and recognition for Chinese Islam in the process of his translation.First of all,this essay has researched Liu Zhi's birth year and death year,and then analyzes the text constitute of Tianfang Xingli intending to clear the characteristics of the times,academic background and ideological origins,and nextly takes a literature review of the past related research of Liu Zhi and his Tianfang Xingli.In the second chapter,by the interpretation of three key concepts: zhenyi,shuyi,tiyi,this paper argues that the Islam Sufism thought is the content really expressed in the works of Liu Zhi and that the discourse system of Confucianism is just as the carrier of the shell.Then,by comparing with the different interpretation of Wuji and Taiji in the thoughts of Zhou Dunyi,Zhu Xi and Liu Zhi,this essay indicates that Liu Zhi makes Chines Confucianism included in the Sufism thought and how the Islam thought communicates with China traditional culture.Liu Zhi's work provides the new content and the new realm to Chinese traditional culture,and offers the response and benefit to the problems of Chinese philosophy in the Chinese context.Finally,the reflection has been discussed to the problem of the interpretation of the Arabic Islamic Culture by the Chinese Confucian Culture.By exploring the influence of Liu Zhi on Hanxuepai and Xidaotang,I put forward the “Huixue” as an academic tradition,and make the Chinese Islam as one of the multicultural components in China becoming possible,and try to explore a survival way for Chinese Islam in Chines ideological and cultural fields of the Chinese context.
