Research ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to study the clinical curative effect of acupuncture treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)with the corresponding acupoints of the abdominal and knee tendons node and that of commonly used acupoints. The effectiveness of two different acupuncture points for the treatment of GERD are evaluated through data analysis, and evaluating the improvement of patients’ symptoms.Research TechniqueAll 62 patients with GERD who met the study criteria were excluded except for the treatment group. There were 30 patients in each group..The treatment group were treated using abdominal and knee tendons node points:RN15,ST19,SP16,LR13,GB27,ST30,SP10 and ST34,LR8.The control group were treated using commonly used points:Main acupoints:RN12,ST36,SP4,PC6,additional acupoints were given for liver-stomach heat type:LR3,Gallbladder heat invading stomach type:GB34.Treatment was done two times a week for a period of one month.Patients were required to fill in the reflux disease questionnaire(RDQ),HAD scale(anxiety and depression scale)and main and secondary syndrome forms of TCM Syndrome scale before and at the end of the one month treatment process. While the gastroesophageal reflux disease questionnaire(GerdQ)were filled before treatment, after 2 weeks of treatment and after 4 weeks of treatment. All data obtained were processed using SPSS20.0 software,P<0.05,indicating that the differences in the results obtained were statistically significant.Research Results1 Before and after treatment, there were significant differences in the total score of the RDQ scales between the gluteus venae acupoints and common points in the abdominal knees(P<0.05).The results showed that the gluteal knot acupuncture points in the abdominal knee were effective on the total RDQ scale scores.Better than the commonly used acupoint group.2 Before and after treatment, the efficacy of abdominal gluteus undrained acupoints and common acupoints RDQ total score was compared:the total effective rate of abdominal gluteal acupuncture and acupoint group was 96.7%,the total effective rate of commonly used points was 73.3%,and the curative effect of abdominal gluteus Group(P<0.05).3 Before and after treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in the proportion of acupuncture points and commonly used acupoints in the abdominal knees between the main points of traditional Chinese medicine(P>0.05).4 Comparison of heartburn symptoms scores:There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups after two weeks of treatment and four weeks of treatment(P<0.05).5 Comparison of reflux symptom scores:There was no significant difference between the two groups at two weeks(P>0.05),and there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups at the four weeks of treatment(P<0.05).Symptoms of reflux symptoms were similar, but four weeks after treatment, abdominal gluteal knot acupuncture group was better than the commonly used acupoint group.6 Post-sternal pain score comparison:There was no significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).7 The GerdQ scale scores were compared between two weeks and four weeks after treatment:there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05),indicating that the abdominal ham tendon acupoint group was better than the commonly used acupoint group in reducing the GerdQ scale score.8 Before and after treatment of anxiety,depression/(HAD)scale score:There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Research Conclusion1 Both the abdominal and knee tendons node and commonly used acupoints are effective in the treatment of GERD.2 The total effective rate of the GERD was significantly higher in the abdominal and knee tendons node treatment than that in the commonly used acupoints.3 The abdominal and knee tendons node treatment showed better improvement on clinical symptoms of GERD such as acid reflux and heartburn than commonly used acupoints.4 The abdominal and knee tendons node and the commonly used acupoint are both equally effective in improving the state of anxiety and depression in GERD patients.
