Objective:To investigate the therapeutic efficacy difference between acupuncture and moxibustion for functional dyspepsia(FD).Method:60 patients with FD were randomized into acupuncture and moxibustion group,to receive treatment once daily,5 session a week, totally for 4 weeks.Nepean Dyspepsia Index(NDI)and Leeds Dyspepsia questionnaire(LDQ)were tested to evaluate the general therapeutic efficacy.Results:1、After a month’s treatment, the total score of the Liz dyspepsia questionnaire in the two groups was significantly lower than before the treatment. In the acupuncture group, the scores of epigastric pain, postprandial fullness, early satiety, nausea and belching symptoms were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.01).The score of floating burn sensation was lower than that before.(p<0.05).Nepean Dyspepsia Index shows that the quality of life of patients has been significantly improved compared with before treatment(P<0.01).2、After one month treatment, the total symptom score of Liz’s dyspepsia questionnaire in moxibustion group decreased obviously.Postprandial fullness and belching symptoms score was significantly lower than that before treatment(P<0.01).The postprandial nausea score was lower than before treatment(P<0.05).Nepean Dyspepsia Index shows that the quality of life of patients has been significantly improved compared with before treatment(P<0.01).3、After one month treatment,Liz’s dyspepsia questionnaire score showed that the overall improvement of dyspepsia symptoms was better in the acupuncture group than in the moxibustion group(P<0.05).The improvement of early satiety symptoms was better in acupuncture group than in moxibustion group(P<0.01),and the improvement of upper abdominal pain and epigastric burning sensation was better in acupuncture group than in moxibustion group(P<0.05).Genipin indigestion index shows that improvement of life-quality of the two groups patients is the same. Conclusion:acupuncture and moxibution are effective in the treatment of FD and acupuncture shows superiority,Especially in early satiety, upper abdominal pain, epigastric burning sensation...
