| The object of this contribution was to investigate the effect of bioactive substances in pig placenta and the effect of pig placental powder on reproductive performance, immune parameters, reproductive hormones, and milk composition in lactating sows. The experiment was divided into two parts. In the first part, placental peptide content, relative molecular mass, and reproductive hormone levels in 6 freshly delivered pigs were determined with Tricine-SDS-PAGE electrophoresis,Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 and ELISA.In the second part of the experiment,36 sows with similar body weight, parity, and parity were selected. They were randomly divided into 4 groups with 9 replicates in each group and 1 pig per replicate. The control group was fed the basal diet and the groups I,II,and III were fed with 1%,3%,and 5% pig placental powder in the basal diet. The experiment began 104 days after pregnancy and ended 21 days after delivery. The results showed that:(1)The average level of relative molecular mass in placental peptides was 12.31±1.51 KD.The average content of placental peptides was 0.77±0.03 mg/g.The average contents of oxytocin, prostaglandin E2,prolactin,and chorionic gonadotropin in the placenta were 16.34±1.6 pg/ml,521.73±75.5 pg/ml,536.07±66.95 ml U/ml,and 6.98±0.59 ml U/ml,respectively.(2)Compared with the control group, the addition of pig placental powder in the diet significantly increased the milking power of the sow and the weaning weight of the piglets(P<0.05),and significantly increased the average daily gain of the piglets during lactation(P<0.05),and significantly reduced sow body weight loss(P<0.05);The lactose and milk fat contents in the milk of all experimental groups increased, and the content in the group II and III increased significantly(P<0.05).(3)The serum level of IL-6 in group II was significantly higher than that in control group, group I and group III on the 3rd day after sow delivery(P<0.05).Ig A levels in group II and III were significantly higher than those in control group and group II(P<0.05).The Ig M and Ig G levels in the groups I and II were significantly higher than those in the control group and the group III(P<0.05);On the 15 th day after delivery, the levels of Ig A and Ig G in the groups I and II were significantly higher than those of the group I and II(P<0.05).The Ig M levels in the control group was significantly lower than other experimental groups(P<0.01).The PRL content in the two-stage experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05),however,there was no significant change in LH.It is suggested that adding pig placental powder into the diet can improve reproductive performance, blood immunity, reproductive hormones and milk quality of lactating sows. The appropriate amount of pig placental powder is 3% in this experimental condition. |
