With the rapid development of global economic, a complex set of socio-economic pressures and environment, it's harder and harder to cope with the fierce competition only by organization leaders, More attention had been paid to empowering leadership concepts such as self-leadership and employee empowerment, encourage to improve the capability of employee creativity. Leadership is the main influence factor of employee creativity, empowerment is thought to unleash employees' potential and enhance their motivation, empowered employees have greater authority and responsibility for their work. However, there were few empirical researches to explore the effectiveness and mechanism of empowering leadership and employee creativity in China. Our research combine with the Chinese culture and try to explore the effectiveness and mechanism of empowering leadership and employee creativity, providing more advice and theory of how to improve the capability of employee creativity.This research was an attempt to explore the effectiveness of empowering leadership, leader-member exchange(LMX) and follower intrinsic motivation for creativity,the relationship between empowering leadership and follower intrinsic motivation for creativity, the mechanism of empowering leadership and role identity as a creative employee, mainly by using extensive literature review, structural questionnaire surveys,mainly used the Correlation, HLM, Bootstrap and other statistics methods.The following is the major findings:Firstly,empowering leadership had positive impact on employee creativity.Secondly,leader-member exchange moderated the relationship between empowering leadership and employee creativity.Whether LMX was high or low, a higher quality of empowering leadership was associated with moderate level of employee creativity.Thirdly, there were statistically significant relationships between empowering leadership and follower intrinsic motivation for creativity,Providing an appropriate model had only indirect effects on employee creativity and turnover intention mediating through follower intrinsic motivation for creativity.Fourthly, role identity as a creative employee moderated the relationship between empowering leadership and follower intrinsic motivation for creativity.Whether the follower intrinsic motivation for creativity were low and high, the follower intrinsic motivation for creativity was relatively diminished of the rising of empowering leadership.
