Design And Implementation Of An Emoji Mobile Social Network Application For Android Platform

Social networks are the most common used mode of communication now days and recently mobile social networks have become more popular because of the portability nature of the mobile device and the availability of internet connection on the move.The mobile social network concept combines social science and communication science and has created a new research field that is pertinent to the areas of content publishing,data exchange,sharing and delivery of services.The ultimate aim and goal of social networking is to facilitate efficient,intelligent and friendly channel of communication in an advanced and complex society rich in information.The main objective is to make communication as simple as possible by utilization of information and social networks through mobile devices.The major mode of communication in these social networks has been text.However,recently emoji symbols have been used concurrently with the text and compared to text,emojis are more simple and convenient and significantly enhance efficiency in communication.Emoji can convey,and enhance sharing of emotions,thoughts and feelings within a short time compared to text.This research thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a mobile social networking application that uses standard and user defined emoji and text on Android platform.
